“There isn’t much reviewing of the horses.”

I know they won’t ever do it, but I’d like them make time to let Alice run through all 34 horses in the paddock.

If 34 horses can walk in and all pause at the same time they shouldn’t be in a National they should be on Britain’s got Talent

“I’m not sure why they have to keep making such a big deal of it being at Liverpool”.

A pedant writes: Actually, it isn’t. Aintree is located within Sefton Council’s area, not Liverpool City Council’s domain. ;-)

Having said that, boundary changes saw Aintree transferred from Sefton Central to Liverpool Walton ahead of the 2024 General Election. And the urban sprawl of Liverpool has swallowed up Aintree. Within a couple of miles, it is open countryside heading up to Ormskirk.

I usually watch RTV but circumstances meant I saw ITV’s coverage on Friday.

I thought it was good, by and large. I could do without McCoy and Fitzgerald and perhaps there is a bit too much of the non racing stuff. But on a mainstream channel broadcasting to a general audience, it is not going to be all about form and race times etc.

ITV deserves credit for continuing to back the sport.

And that’s just the horses. B-)

    Nathan..
I’d love James Sherwood to come back and do Royal Ascot fashion again. Can’t stand the cocktail bar hoppers Hawkins and Heyes.😱

Many of you folks amaze me.

In this day and age you have FREE terrestrial TV showing regular racing and you are forever bloody moaning about it!!!
Don’t you realize how lucky you are?

ITV do a great job overall, but is it perfect, no.

They are trying to put out a show that covers the product, educates the audience, promote the fluffy stuff that the horses welfare is paramount and encourage viewers to at least attend a race meeting and experience the sport.

If people want their racing presentation to be 100% racing/betting/form, then put your hands in your pockets and subscribe to SKY or RTV and you’ll be able to get your undiluted fix.

More disappointing viewing figures for ITV,even allowing for different methods of viewing, the figures suggest the public are not buying ITVs pretence that the race is still the same

I haven’t watched it for a few years now, ever since they have moved the time.

I've walked and I crawled on six crooked highways

Probably not entirely appropriate for this thread but I’ve just received notification that race replays from all UK and Irish tracks are now available to watch for free on attheraces.com and the At The Races app! Handy for studying or maybe taking a trip down memory lane. Plus you can avoid the ITV Racing crew if you’re happy to watch their racing coverage later in the day. https://www.attheraces.com/replays

They’re also free on sportinglife.com, as I have posted many times before.

Matt Chapman doing a great job entertaining viewers with his interviews with Haggas, Gosden and Appleby.

Always keeps them on their toes because they are just not sure what he’s going to ask next.
