Imperial you going to Fairyhouse on Sunday?……Personally i would like to but the weather is bound to be awful.
Might wait for the Grade 1 at Navan a few weeks later which is going to be a cracker
November 25, 2009 at 22:16 #260518Usually do go for the three G1s but I might give it a miss and head for Punchestown next weekend instead. Depends if I get dragged to Coppers after the rugby on Saturday night I suppose!
See RTÉ aren’t even showing it this year. A double bill of Off The Rails and Murder She Wrote instead ffs.
November 26, 2009 at 17:36 #260628Apt Approach very unfortunate today. Had that race in the bag until the final fence. Should win good races over fences in time. Nice boost for Pesoto and Oscar Looby before the Drinmore with Swift Counsel boosting the form.
Hopefully Willie will have better luck with Rhyl Accord and Ballyhaunis first time out over hurdles tomorrow. Luska Lad should have a fairly straightforward task in the conditions hurdle. There’s no Voler La Vedette or Go Native in his way tomorrow.
November 26, 2009 at 22:43 #260668Bulwark, Alexander Severus died back in May.
November 27, 2009 at 13:46 #260779Vintage Carberry on Chicago Grey. Pure class. He’ll be missed for the next few months.
Luska Lad ran very poorly.

Finally in the bumper Life O Reilly/Torando Shay/Im Still Standing(07 bumper winner
)Further a field The irish 2mile hurdles go to battle aswell as Weapons Amnesty/Snowy Morning/WOA
Shall be interesting to see how the animals fair.
November 27, 2009 at 23:02 #260879Donegal is running over in Newcastle as well. Robbie Hennessy seems quite bullish about his chances on his blog on the RP site. He must be taking better to hurdles now given how out of his depth he looked last year when some (guilty as charged) thought he could be a Triumph hurdle horse!
The way Willie has been finding stones of improvement in what looked to be fairly moderate horses this season has been amazing. He may well eek out a few more pounds out of that Thousand Stars. I thought Noel O’Brien would be harsher on him given how easy he won at Naas.
November 28, 2009 at 14:17 #260950Imperial hope you paid for a few presents with Thousands Stars….can’t believe was 9/2 early doors.
November 28, 2009 at 14:21 #260954Had him in a double with Donnas Palm. Happy Days!
Great ride by Katie. Pierse Hurdle up next?
November 28, 2009 at 14:31 #260958See no reason why not?.
Quick pat on the back for Noel Meade today…Good Stuff!!!!
November 28, 2009 at 14:35 #260961Carberry must be kicking himself. He could be missing out on more Grade 1s tomorrow with Aitmatov and Pandorama
November 29, 2009 at 11:45 #261145Feckin’ weather!!
November 29, 2009 at 12:17 #261151Will Carberry be able to ride on Wednesday now that its a rescheduled meeting? Possibly good news for Aitmatov and Pandorama’s chances
November 29, 2009 at 13:25 #261155Glad its cancelled the racing would have been terrible given the ground….although hard to see it be completly different come Wednesday.
AHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. Mullins yokie in the bumper was a 1/2 shot at best. Has some Rep
November 30, 2009 at 16:18 #261335Advance entries are out for the Christmas Festival at Leopardstown:
Saturday – http://info.hri-racing.ie/entries/Microsoft_Word__ONOR343.PDF
Sunday – http://info.hri-racing.ie/entries/Microsoft_Word__ONOR345.PDF
Monday – http://info.hri-racing.ie/entries/Microsoft_Word__ONOR347.PDF
Tuesday – http://info.hri-racing.ie/entries/Microsoft_Word__ONOR349.PDFThe novice chase on Stephens’ Day looks a potential cracker. Sizing Europe, Cousin Vinny, Captain Cee Bee, Osana, Harchibald, Jered, Kempes, Pesoto, Sports Line and Mikael D’Haguenet (who isn’t in the three mile Knight Frank
) all hold entries.Dunguib is in the Future Champion Novice but isn’t in the Leopardstown Hurdle which could be the next race for Hurricane Fly where he could clash with Voler La Vedette. Unless Fenton runs Dunguib. in the Irish Champion Hurdle in January to test the waters, I think we can safely assume he’ll end up in the Supreme Novices Hurdle.
Potentially could be a substandard renewal of the Lexus with Denman unlikely to come over, and with Imperial Commander and Cooldine likely to go to Kempton. Hopefully most of Aran Concerto, Joncol, In Compliance, Glencove Marina, Notre Pere and Tranquil Sea turn up to make it an interesting contest. Forpadydeplasterer is another that holds an entry in the Lexus. It’ll be interesting to see if he was to disappoint at Sandown, whether Tom Cooper might try him over three miles. No entry for Trafford Lad which is disappointing.
Roll on the 26 December. The best four days Irish racing of the year IMO.

Don’t miss this animal out in the Bumper Imperial…he is going to scoot up…only worry is the really really bad ground.
He even has a entry in a Grade 1 Novice Hurdle
