I wouldn’t normally flag up Flat breds but Summit Meeting was the most impressive winner I watched today.
November 15, 2009 at 19:10 #258816Good racing today.
Jered/Sizing Europe continue to improve and the latter was impressive.
Clan Tara was given a shocking ride……and can’t be followed with such a pilot on board.
The same pilot did his best to get Solwhit beaten but the horse looks a smashing animal. Hurricane Fly still the one to beat as the ground was desperate and a slow pace which led him to pull his head of for the whole 2miles.
Mullins hurdler’s down in Cork were giving some shocking rides. That Emmet Mullins was atricious on a 1/3 shot just like he was at Naas on a Meade horse a few weeks back. Skorcher was a bit of a rogue on the bumper track but wasn’t very good today either.
That Premier Victory won by half the track and looks a very good mare…..can’t believed he won so easily. Although the ones in behind gave it to him on a plate by giving him a easy lead
November 15, 2009 at 20:18 #258828Another shocking ride from Davy Russell again? He has to rank up there with the worst NH jockeys in either Britain or Ireland currently for consistency – or lack of. He must be the cheapest jockey available on a retainer of sorts considering who the man he rides for is…. Some Present at Cheltenham on Friday was horrific.
I know Jered won well today but he still doesn’t look like a true chaser to me. He made quite a few mistakes early on.

Big boost for Some Slam’s bumper form.
Lads, Russell is a class act as he showed on Solwhit – he’s a fabulous horseman. Some Present needs a strongly run race but he tried to duck out of one at Punchestown LTO. What was Davy supposed to do? If he decided to force the issue by taking up the running and the horse ran out people would be venting their fury.
November 15, 2009 at 20:45 #258836Imperial he was atricious on Clan Tara?
What was he doing trying to run them ragged on desperate ground.
Did he think he was on Arazi ala Breeders Cup.
Can’t believe the ride…begged belief….he was closed to being pulled up before that mistake. He stopped like he was shot due to facile tactics.
Coolcashin would have hosed up other than for Russel taking him out. He looks a horse to follow
November 15, 2009 at 20:56 #258842Can only presume he was riding to instructions Wallace. A lot of Nolan’s like to bowl along in front.
November 15, 2009 at 21:00 #258845Maybe but why change from the last days tactics….there was a front runner coz russel burnt of one horse when he tried to dispute.
I could not fathom what they were doing….I MOL takes racing as he does his business. Russell would have been handed his p45
November 17, 2009 at 21:33 #259177Fionnegas makes his debut over timber at Clonmel tomorrow. Could be a Ballymore horse this fellow. Very impressed with him in his last bumper at the Curragh.

I don’t think it just coincidence that several Gigginstown horses have run up a few victories when Russell has been replaced by the likes of O’Shea and Heskin.
He has also been in front and suffered the same type of fall on Ceasen Desist, God Of Love and Scavanger this season. They can’t all just be unlucky.
As for Solwhit he was on easily best horse and could have got himself boxed in.
November 17, 2009 at 22:33 #259200Last Draw- If this horse gets gd-sft over 2m4f-3m he will win end of. I hope Charlie Swan brings him over for a few races in UK if it doesnt come up gd-sft in ireland. Saw this horse at Down Royal last february and backed him as he looked a monster in the paddock, and he would definitely have won but for the jockey riding him into a cross-track running rail with about 100metres to go. Since then have bigged him up a few times, and the other day he was 2nd in a grade 3 at cork on unsuitable Sft/Heavy ground. Better things will come from this horse, watch this space.
November 18, 2009 at 16:07 #259304Fionnegas was very good very very good. Remindes me of Mikeal the way he jumps. Big and Bold. We make a super chaser.
Sports Line 2moro…other anything horse for Willie
November 18, 2009 at 18:36 #259327He seems very bullish about Sports Line this year. Thought he looked a bit of a monkey at times last year myself. His last run at Naas was fierce impressive though.
November 18, 2009 at 19:37 #259345Big boost for Some Slam’s bumper form.
Only just got round to looking at the Some Slam/Summit Meeting bumper form.
Summit Meeting was clearly just gaining experience in bumpers as he looks as if he will want 3 miles in time. Amateur rider looked particularly untidy. He jumps well, looks to have a great attitude and I could see him ending up in the staying novice come March.
Some Slam was allowed a pretty easy lead and just had too much speed. I would like to see him again because he didn’t look as straightforward as the runner up to me. Probably helped him to have the rail position to keep him relatively straight.
November 24, 2009 at 17:38 #260318Smashing little horse Mullins threw out in the Maiden Hurdle today in the shape of enterprise park. One to keep a eye on lads
November 24, 2009 at 18:04 #260322Interesting performance from Kauto Relko. As a backer I could have done without the jockey change – perhaps someone could remind Ruby that there is such a thing as each-way betting. From a decent position seemed to fall asleep and then finish with plenty of horse under him suggesting under a better ride he could well have finished very close to the three.
November 24, 2009 at 18:44 #260331Think he was just geting a schooling. He has fallen quite a bit.
Very disappointed with EOG Out Now who was a big name to follow in the P2P.
November 24, 2009 at 18:58 #260337Great beginners chase at Naas tomorrow if it gets the go ahead. Captain Cee Bee, Nicanor, Zaarito and Apt Approach. Great to see the Captain back on the track. Hopefully he’s back to his best.
Listed hurdle looks a decent contest too. Torphicen, Ebadiyan and Arabella Boy.
