“Will Handstands stay 4 miles plus? Last week the trainer was reported to have said he’s a 3 miler who is quick enough for a Ryanair.”I had put him in my TTF but probably just token bets on the day. Trainer’s comments are all over the place instead of saying, “He’s a 3 and a bit miler but probably not good enough for the gold cup and the stable jockey is going to ride our better horse in that, so we’ll just shove him in something else that I have zero confidence he will win either.”
I’ll probably regret this if he goes and hacks up this afternoon, but I’ve cashed out of Quai de Bourbon for a small loss. Just don’t like the hash he has made of his starts so far this season, ground or no ground, and if he runs indifferently today I suspect they could forget Aintree and just go back to Fairyhouse.
Just leaves me with Champ Kiely for now.
