He’s been floored, probably by too much porter.

Randox Grand National hero Nick Rockett has been earmarked for a return to action at Down Royal on St Patrick’s Day to beat the clock and book a ticket for the defence of his crown.

The Willie Mullins-trained nine-year-old has been absent since his Aintree heroics last April and needs to compete in at least one chase before March 24 to qualify for next month’s National.

He can’t cash out a free bet, HDLG, or he would have after that run.

Mind you, with MikeBet anything is possible. 🤷‍♂️

    I’d said earlier

Quite fancy FLOORING PORTER after his Kerry National win, but a serious question was what the commentator said about his over inflated weights. His stamina beyond 3 miles has to be taken on trust, but has twice won the Stayers Hurdle so expecting it not to be a problem.

Also the two Gigginstown owned horses FAVORI DE CHAMPDOU (FR) and SEARCH FOR GLORY makes my appeal based on the Paddy Power Chase at Leopardstown over the Christmas period.

No bet yet, waiting until after Cheltenham.

    UPDATE

    FLOORING PORTER OUT

Really liked Search For Glory’s run, might add him if it looks like making the cut. Panicked a bit when Search For Glory put a good run in Ultima that I’d decided to go for Favori De Champdou (EW at 40/1). Liked Favori run in the cross country but it’s price has dropped only a fraction to 33/1. Early look at this year’s field and gone for JOHNNYWHO (16/1) win

Will look more closely after March 24th (next elimination stage)

You've got to accentuate the positive.
    Eliminate the negative.
    Latch on to the affirmative.
Don't mess with mister in between.
