17 points @ 9/1 (b365) Get Me Out Of Here
14 points @ 11/1 (b365) Manyriverstocross
9 points @ 11/1 (betfair) Ronaldo Des MottesWas going to wait to bet, but as Mr Packman has just put up the same main two as I was going for, had to get on.

Was hoping to have another each way on Forzy Oringy but can’t resist the enhanced win price on betfair so:
24 points @ 17/1 (betfair) Forzy Oringy

30 points @ 4.2/1 (betfair) BensalemDoes Diamond Harry really have 2.75 times the chance of Alan King’s gelding based on last time out? 1.5 or even 2 may be, not 2.75 (Now over 3m which should suit Bensalem). Not that Inchadaily is at all out of it, just wonder if he has the speed if they don’t go a pace.
3:40 Newbury
13 points each way 8/1 (SJ, PP) Fix The RibbWorth taking a chance he’s equally effective left handed.
Worth taking on Master Minded as it’s a long time since he’s shown his best form and injured since. Voy Por has not been at his best either, though stable in better form now. With an odds-on shot and a rank outsider, dead 5 runners; it;s an ideal type of race to back each way.Don’t like backing last time out fallers but both these two are worth it at the prices (imo).

34 points @ 100/30 (PP) Punchestowns
10 points @ 33/1 (betfair) Bensalem
9 points @ 5/1 (b365) Long RunStable companions combined price is 6/4. Surprised it’s more than Evens. If (quite a big IF) Kingy can get Bensalem jumping fences as well as he did hurdles; could improve greatly. Worth taking a chance at the price.
Value Is EverythingFebruary 15, 2010 at 14:13 #276860Put the above "tip" on on another forum and seems the 33/1 went before I posted here so will call it 27/1 Bensalem.
Value Is EverythingFebruary 17, 2010 at 16:37 #277405Special Grand National bet.
78 points @ 11/8 (bsq) Winner to carry 11 st or more
This looks the best bet of all National bets.
I’d say it’s around a 4/6 chance. With 8 of the 12 shortest priced in ante-post markets are 11st+; and 3 of the other four will be in that bracket if Mon Mome ends up top weight.

37 points @ 9/4 (L) Planet Of Sound
18 points @ 7/1 (generally) Monet’s GardenCould’ve laid Alberta’s instead. I make him such a poor price that I’ve got 4 of the 6 runners at backable prices.
My 100% book
Planet Of Sound 15/8, Herecomesthetruth 11/4, Monet’s Garden 11/2, Oh Crick 15/2, Alberta’s Run 9/1, The Sawyer 40/1.One possible problem here is pace, too much of it. The Sawyer, Herecomesthetruth and Monet’s Garden are arguably all at their best allowed to dominate.
It will be a test of stamina on that ground, but I expect Planet Of Sound to stay. Questions about Oh Crick on that score. Alberta’s is probably better on good ground and very much favoured by the weights here on reappearance.
Monet’s ran poorly last time but showed he’s still capable of good form in the Old Roan. Now given a break, there’s every chance he can come back to form. Do wonder if Herecomesthetruth is best able to dominate, fell when passed last time. May be taken on today.
Planet Of Sound is the one likely to make improvement, although (if The Cumbrian Grey is at his best) needs to.Value Is EverythingFebruary 20, 2010 at 00:27 #2779733:35 Haydock

Just watched ATR interview with Alan King, Bensalem seems likely to go for the William Hill instead. So have laid him back, in effect cancelling the bet.
Value Is EverythingFebruary 21, 2010 at 13:44 #278254Hi Ginger
Will you be backing Bensalem for WH Chase is he gets in on 144. Can’t believe the handicapper has Diamond Harry and Burton Port rated a stone better than Bensalem

I’d be very much like to Sea Pigeon, but everything depends on price. Unfortunately, if we think he’s thrown in so will the bookies / exchanges.

Like Victor Meldrew, I just can’t believe it!
Now Stan James are offering 7/4 the winner to carry more than 11 stone. A rick or what!
Can’t resist so another:
