Your dismissive posts are becoming more and more annoying.
May 8, 2009 at 13:44 #226292The horses between Golden Sword and Masterofthehorse are not good enough, and neither are the O’Brien duo themselves.
(At the very least, this isn’t convincing form from a Derby standpoint)
End of. Next trial please.
How can you say these two horse’s are not good enough ? is there any possibility of a good reason into why they are not good enough.

You know – nobody’s actually forcing you to read them.
May 8, 2009 at 14:20 #226294The 215 looks like a competetive race. I think i’ll side with Big Bound. Hopefully he can stay up front and run it out of the rest of them, so at 11/1 i’m willing to have a go.
In the 245 i’m going for another outsider in Scintillo at 14/1, which is fair enough to me considering there are only 4 runners. All the talk is of the other 3, but there’s always something that sneaks in the back door and this horse is no mug.

My words were a bit strong, and poorly phrased – you’re right. I apologise.
I’m just unsure about how to read the race. The 25-1 pacemaker ends up winning like nothing of his supposed role – the post-race discussion surrounded the word "misjudgment" but then again, if it was such then I wouldn’t expect a time 2 seconds below RP standard.
And what to make of Murtagh’s ride? Did he execute the plan as discussed prior, or was it misjudgment on his behalf?
Therefore, I believe (not you, just me) this race (as a guide to the Derby) is not very straightforward and clear-cut.
Out of curiosity, what did you think of the race?
EDIT: Nevermind, just read your post. I see we are on polar opposites re: the O’Brien duo, so it makes sense you are outraged by me!

May 8, 2009 at 14:53 #226302I believe both jockeys. Johnny M was told to prepare his horse for the Derby by learning to relax and come late and Darragh was told to see how far he could go racing like his sire, from the front. I believe that the winner revealed that he is a very good horse. I realize that if the winner was not trained by Aidan Johnny might have gone after him sooner but nevertheless he was galloping on at the end and nothing was going to catch him. A live prospect in my opinion for the derby. If trained by Stouty what would your opinion of the winner be? Sometimes we have to look at the race from the trainer’s point of view not the punter’s.

I’m sorry Saleson but I din’t see a thing wrong with Myle’s post. He was straight to the point and my reaction was he is bang on there.
I doubt if either horse will run in the Derby let alone win it.
Not like you to be having a go over something so petty mate hope to hell you never backed one of them for the Derby
May 8, 2009 at 15:11 #226306No, i’ve backed nothing for the Derby.
However, this is far from the first time I’ve seen posts with the tone or exact words … ‘end of’, ‘move on’ etc. (Godolphin topic, for example)
Myles is free to move on from stopping a debate; others can, and will choose when they want to. I think it comes across as pretty ignorant.
May 8, 2009 at 15:20 #226307Having procured 13/8 about Dr. Fremantle, my sole Chester bet of yesterday, today I go solo again – and in the hope ( and belief ) that J. Murtagh gives Drumbeat a fighting chance, then I will chance a few coppers on that combination passing the post first in the 2.15.

May 8, 2009 at 15:33 #226310A cheeky each-way bet on the maiden
South Easter
(2.15) with hope his debut hitout has hardened him up and will appreciate the extra distance.
May 8, 2009 at 15:59 #226315Fathsta – Pick them up late off a frantic pace
Frozen Fire – Back on quick ground, class will see him through
Gitano Hernando – Hugely impressive physically, big improver in avge race
Noble Storm – Stylish recently can overcome drawMay 8, 2009 at 16:03 #226316Wish you hadn’t said that; I’ve just got back from work and have been toying with the idea of jumping in the car and having a bet on him; I really rate Willie Haggas as a trainer. I think there’s only a couple in the race with a Derby entry and he’s one of them.
May 8, 2009 at 16:16 #226319Is it at all possible to win from stall 8? Just like the look of Fault. Also South Easter.
I have taken an interest in Fault. He’s being asked a bit more this time but he seems to have improved for new surroundings. Stall 8 is not the best, but it’s not out on the far bank of the Dee either and he’s genrally up with the pace so might manage to negate the gate, as it were. Had a small nibble at 46.

May 8, 2009 at 16:21 #226320Think stall 7 won last year.
