Is it not a distinct possibility that Stradivarius will finish about 5th in the Arc, come out of the race well and then come here for his swansong before getting retired?

    6/4 with WH.

Frenchy they have said if he comes out of the Arc the could run him the long distance cup. I think Strad will do better than 5th, but it all depends on the Draw, he gets a bad draw I will cash out on him.

I’ll be considering taking that 6/4 before Sunday then

He’ll have a hard race in the Arc I think on that ground. Its a risky bet I would say.

maybe but he ran 2miles 4 in it at Ascot, and looked like he was on a training session!

But to run a cracker and finish 5th in an Arc for a horse that is probably a stayer, it will take a good bit out of him. Not saying he won’t win, as i would say he will. Just not sure 6/4 will drastically shorten before the race? Unless Gosden comes out and clearly states Ascot is a certainty.

If he runs, he’ll be odds on no doubt. Especially if it’s his last run, he’ll get smashed into!

Depends whether 6/4 is value. I’m not sure, as I get the comments, which is why I said I’m considering it and not yet doing it!

Nayef Road taken out of the betting, must be injured.

There was a forfeit stage yesterday which has whittled them down from 40 to 27, I didn’t see the original 40 but presumably Nayef Road was scratched, it is unusual for Johnston not to run them so presumably something has happened it just isn’t being widely reported yet. Logician is also entered in the Champion Stakes just to complicate matters if you do fancy him, 2 week gap from the Arc to Champions Day I’d imagine if they were going to retire Stradivarius he’d run at Ascot as one last hurrah unless he were to win the Arc, if he’s to stay in training for another year I think they’ll give it a miss unless he really comes out of Longchamp well.

Has there been any comments about Strad retiring? Can’t find anything. Would be epic if he stayed again for another year when hopefully we can all go and see him one more time!

Yeah TTM, seen the forfeits yesterday, and not surprisingly, Goshen amongst them.

I’ll not be looking for another Antepost on this now, though I might go with Stratum if he declares.

I like the look of Spanish Mission in this race. Improving 4 yr old and is likely to get his ground for the race for the week leading up to the champions meeting looking dry. If Strad doesn’t run and I am sure Logician won’t after Gosden is looking at two other races before he is put away for the winter. I doubt the 12/1 will be around for too long.

Spanish Mission 12/1 on the nose.

Moved to Andrew Balding stables 14th August and seems to have improved for the move.

Just read Logician is running Friday at York the re-scheduled Cumberland Lodge Stakes. No way would be able to get 11/8 for him on Friday. Bound to open at 4/6 or less.

I did say I very much dought that Logician would run in this race, but I have my horse, but if strad is going to run I will jump on him. There is very little rain forecast this week and I expect the going at worst good to soft. Search for a star has always run a bad race anytime you have the word soft in the going. But if strad doesn’t run I am sticking to Spanish Mission.

I’m happy that Morando is still in there, but I don’t think that the weather forecast is in his favour.

I cashed out Spanish mission for a £3 loss because I could see strad running. What are the opinions that strad will win after only running in the arc a couple of weeks ago. The straight to the finish is soft and will dry out more. I don’t think the going will be a problem.
