    1. The correct name is Lancashire Chase.

    2. This contest has ruined the Hennessy, which once attracted Cheltenham Gold Cup winners carrying top weight.

    3. Any Peaky Blinders wannabe shouting at A Plus Tard: “Come on, the A+!” should be shot.

Dunno that it did wreck the Hennessy. Of this year’s entries, if the Betfair didn’t exist:

A Plus Tard wouldn’t be running in it off 180, giving a stone to grade 1 horses, the guts of 2 stone to very good horses and pushing decent up and coming stayers chasers out of the handicap, he’d in Ireland and run in the Clonmel Oils or somesuch, or go straight to Leopardstown.

Proketorat would have gone to the Many Clouds again.

Eldorado Allen might have run in the Hennessy I suppose.

Frodon would go straight to Kempton.

Bristol de Who? would be running in Veteran’s chases

    Bristol de Who*

If you think this is harsh consider that he hasn’t won a race that isn’t the Betfair since 2017- the Charlie Hall where the favourite, Cue Card, fell.

The point is that back in the day there was nowhere else to go – no easy level weights alternative and a prestigious Hennessy prize.

Arkle, Bregawn, Burrough Hill Lad and even Denman ran in the Hennessy for a reason.

I’m backing Proketorat tomorrow. I think he’ll be fitter than APT, has had his wind touched up again and will like the ease in the ground. APT jumped and won impressively last year but the form of the race- looking at the opposition on that ground, the mudloving glorified handicappers he beat finishing lame- was rubbish. Can’t really argue with his super Cheltenham victory but I think he might just need the run tomorrow.

Got to give Bristol de Mai a chance if it does turn out to be real bottomless ground. No value in A Plus Tard anyway.

    Bristol de Mai 10/1

Don’t think it’ll be bottomless. And I believe A Plus Tard will be fit enough to win.

Jacob is bullish about Bristol , says he,s working well and the ground was to firm last year

    Just for fun

Frodon at 33s – twice over.

The Racing on offer today aint my sort; small fields, hot favourites, i prefer the 25 runner handicap hurdles to get stuck into.
So, Frodon has a couple of ‘loyal’ wagers chucked his way.

Best of luck to all today, across the cards :good:

Bobby Bristol will want to lead , id be worried Frodon spits the dummy , I’m happy to take APT on , NTD is in form and Bristol loves a slop , I also love Eldorado Allen , fit in hoping he can add a stronger lol to BMG form , I’ll be honest I reckon APT may struggle today ….just a feeling I have

How are you even allowed to run horses that are so unfit, robbing the public blind
