I think it is a very open race. Notebook is the right favourite, but he is too short to back for me. I think Fakir d’Oudrais is a bit overrated, especially without his weight allowance. I will give Cashback another chance. He was just narrowly beaten by Notebook, but he is much bigger price. I also can see Al Dancer run a nice race. He has been a bit unlucky in his previous race. In most of the races he carried a few pounds more then the rest. He might be lucky this time.

As someone who backed put the kettle on in the northern trust that was a hard watch

Shame I didnt get a run for my money with notebook, the false start likely put pay to both his and cash backs chances

    Neither finished off there races

    Well done winners.
Put The Kettle On a rare Henry De Bromhead horse I did not back today!

At least got 12/1 Henry to be top trainer.

Notebook usually races up with the pace, with a clear view of his fences and didn’t seem to enjoy being in behind/jostled. Fakir may have won without the mistake at the second last, unlucky for his backers.

Well done VtC and any other backers of the winner. She is a lovely mare. Good race with some nice jumping from the principals. I wonder if Cash Back bled or flipped his palate or something- he had seemed to be travelling quite nicely and then just went backwards, even though he hadn’t gone a crazy pace. Or perhaps he is just not top class.

Don’t think fakir would have fun even without the mistake , winner did it well but I don’t think it was a great arkle

Well done winners. Don’t think it was a vintage edition, but fair play to Put the Kettle On.

Cash Back has made all in all of his chases, Green… and also wears a hood. So suspect wasn’t good enough to hold his lead and then didn’t like being amongst horses – hence falling back so quickly.

I had PTKO down as one to back up and win at Aintree after finding the Arkle too much…well how wrong was i….probably wouldn’t have found out anyway as it’ll probably be called off lol. Some performance there. Probably not a great renewal.

It’s very possible that both notebook and cash back left their races at leopardstown

Kind of puts me off chacun pour soi, min and riders on the storm who all had similarly hard races in recent weeks

Makes sense, that could well be it.
