Yeah, Roger and Tony would have liked that.

If ever a theme tune was two stone better than the Show it was written for, this was it – John Barry, what an absolute legend that guy was: https://youtu.be/vafSPUXMXXU

If I walked into a voting booth I’d expect to see all the candidates on the list like!!
    “Here are the runners –

    “The Whip” (no change)

    “The Collector”

    “The Magic Wand”

    “The Motivator”

    “The Cush”

    “The Communicator”

    “The Prompt”

I’ve decided to get this up and running now, as the functionality gives scope to add further options if required (proposer and seconder please).

    Let the voting commence!”

Its ok Chezza, you are doing a great job.
And if you win nothing else, there will be a new thread starter of the year catogory.

Well, at the risk of upsetting Diva Davies, i would like to suggest the Aid as an alternative to the Whip, as in theory it is something that should be used to help keep a horse straight and ‘encouraged’.

Voting booth ballot papers tend not to have late supplementary entries from blokes called Sam!

You’re in, you’re winning, what more do you want?

And your reason for waiting until a good day after the original poll had been posted is?

I am more shocked to see “persuader” doing so well. Just shows how popular ITV racing is.
Has to be whip. Not a fan of euphemisms generally.

Ian, I also like John Barry’s “A view to a kill” written together with Duran Duran. This was by the way the only proper “horse racing” Bond movie.

    One serious omission

Zelda Zonk never worked for Marilyn Monroe. The black wig neither.
Why ? She was typecast as a dumb blonde and it stuck.

The whip, or Vincent Price in inanimate form, wants to change himself, or itself, from horror to semi serious roles. The only possibility is to create a total transformation, or, like Dr. Frankenstein’s strange obsession, a new creature that has a look of horror but elicits human sensibilities. The chrysalis is multi layered but there is a danger of transformation into a Seth Brundle ‘ it all went wrong ‘ or perfection like ‘Some like it hot’ – a blissful transfiguration!

We entertain a mischung – a German word meaning mixture.
We conjoin stick which is a method of stern correction and light horror and mix it or intermingle it with the word ‘spark’. To spark something is to get it into greater action – to spur it on.

As the chrysalis splits we see evidence of the new monster emerging but possessing new sensibilities.

    STICK SPARK STICK SPARK…..

    It’s a monstrous transformation…

    ….SPICK

The new Marilyn upstages Olivier in Showgirl and she has transformed.

Happy Birthday Mr President and like racing I have immortalized myself into someone accepted, and I am finally reshaped and immortalized !

    “One serious omission”

FAO of gamble and anyone else who wants to preface their own nomination with this one-liner: Take a look in the mirror – when you really mean is one spectacular personal failure by YOU to get your nomination in before the deadline on a thread that’s been up the best part of a WEEK!

However, seeing as it’s one rule for gamble and another for everyone else, I concede it was an amusing nocturnal interlude by the great man.

Defiant traditionalism currently rules as “The Whip” leads with 35% of the vote so far with “The Persuader” a close second on 30%.

38% now want to retain “The Whip” in clear defiance of wider public opinion, 29% favour “The Persuader” as the new generic alternative and the other options are toiling in arrears.

Let’s see if this scenario changes.
