One serious omission
Zelda Zonk never worked for Marilyn Monroe. The black wig neither.
Why ? She was typecast as a dumb blonde and it stuck.The whip, or Vincent Price in inanimate form, wants to change himself, or itself, from horror to semi serious roles. The only possibility is to create a total transformation, or, like Dr. Frankenstein’s strange obsession, a new creature that has a look of horror but elicits human sensibilities. The chrysalis is multi layered but there is a danger of transformation into a Seth Brundle ‘ it all went wrong ‘ or perfection like ‘Some like it hot’ – a blissful transfiguration!
We entertain a mischung – a German word meaning mixture.
We conjoin stick which is a method of stern correction and light horror and mix it or intermingle it with the word ‘spark’. To spark something is to get it into greater action – to spur it on.As the chrysalis splits we see evidence of the new monster emerging but possessing new sensibilities.
