See you at Newbury Gord,
You look out for the most dashing bloke at the track.

Thats very kind of you Joni to say so! I just hope I’m a lucky charm for your horse! I’m hoping
Ransom note
runs myself, always wanted a picture of him too!
I meant me knobby!!! With you I know to look for a stalker with a long lens snapping lasses when pretending to be snapping horses.
"this perfect mix of poetry and destruction, this glory of rhythm, power and majesty: the undisputed champion of the world!!!"
May 15, 2012 at 21:15 #404268See you at Newbury Gord, I can usually be found around the pre-parade ring (far side or near to the exit towards the stables) or parade ring (corner furthest away (diagnally accross) from the winners enclosure).
We can put Racing right.
I should be looking for a mop of Ginger hair no? You look out for the most dashing bloke at the track.

Not a mop Joni, it’s faily short at the moment. Hopefully it’ll be my third day’s racing on the trot, after Salisbury and Newbury Friday. Don’t count on me being there though, my father has got the dreaded bug that’s going around. If mother goes down with it I’ll have to go and nurse them.

You two should be easy enough to spot, I’ll look out for a couple of egotists.
Value Is EverythingMay 16, 2012 at 20:43 #404362Tomorrows Dante has seven runners and yet my 2000gns eyecatcher
Fencing
is 6/1 5th fav! WHAT? He stayed on like a good un at Newmarket and this course will see him in an even better light, this ‘Bonfire’ is No 2/1 fav imo,i can see him travelling like a Rolls Royce and fizzle out like a damp squib particularly if the ground dries up even more. There is No way ‘Fencing’ will go off the 5th fancied horse in this,No way. There might be a less exposed horse in the race that could be anything like ‘Mandaean’ or ‘Ektihaam’ but I’m convinced the Gosden horse will improve again a bit like
The Fugue
did eh darren? Another well spotted classic candidate from your goodself mate,Well done!
Fencing
£150 win 6/1 Ladbrokes
£150 win 6/1 Bet365 Dante.
£3100May 16, 2012 at 21:02 #404365I hope you’re wrong King, I’ve just put Bonfire up in my thread! Hoping for big things from him this season and expect him to show his colours first time out. Whilst I think the step up in trip will suit Fencing, I don’t think he’ll like the softer going, the bigger threat may come from Ektihaam, looked as good as ever last month and yard is in form.
May 16, 2012 at 21:30 #404366Rich,just my opinion mate, when I’m wrong I’m wrong big time! Mind you I was amazed this ‘Twirl’ went off an odds on fav today,I thought
The Fugue
was a certainty to at least be fav,9/4 was incredible!
May 16, 2012 at 21:38 #404368I think it’ll be a fascinating race whoever wins and should act as a yardstick for the season… just wish we could’ve seen Parish Hall in this and how he has trained on, he’s me hope for the Derby along with Bonfire!
The rest of the card looks a puzzle again but would give Irish Heartbeat a chance in the first, is on a winnable mark and has run well at York in the past notably last August, Has a decent pitch in the middle too.
May 16, 2012 at 21:45 #404369Not soft enough for ‘Irish heartbeat’ Rich, he’d need at least 6f-7f on good ground to show his true colours,
Racy
will have too much toe imo!
Cape Tribulation
will think he’s been let loose with 9-12 on ground he’ll love so long as it doesn’t rain!
May 16, 2012 at 21:46 #404370Fury runs again tomorrow King, will you be backing him? Has his ground again but I fear that if he doesn’t oblige then there a few excuses! I think Mijhaar is a good thing, clearly goes well fresh and is proven on the ground, only slight concern is the trip.

I don’t think IH needs it too soft personally, times today suggest the grounds riding slow, he’s won on genuine good ground in the past and is 1lb lower, Racy finds it hard to stick his head in front, a nearly horse for me!
Agree on CT though, Fortune will hopefully ave a decent day!
May 17, 2012 at 08:45 #404400My thoughts on the sprint Rich are that its run over the 5f,not the 51/2f which would suit ‘Irish Heartbeat’ as he can finish with a flourish,I know the formbook tells you your horse is 5lb better of with
Racy
for barely a length but I’m just hoping this speedy sort will hit the line before yours gets into top gear, had it been 6f I would certainly see a different result! We’ll see!

Yes rich I’m a succour for punishment,I said he was a Group 3 horse after the Lincoln and he HAS to win today to justify my faith in him,I thought he ran flat at Newmarket so am expecting him to stretch out today,if he doesn’t I will be FURIOUS!
Fury
£200 win 6/1 Betfred Hambleton.
£1900
May 17, 2012 at 14:06 #404430Get in TAPK, that Global Village win is really holding the form well. Nice shout, perseverance pays off yet again

Loyalty GDC! I didn’t think he’d battle like that and had anybody other than Ryan Moore ridden him he’d have been robbed! A truly remarkable ride both he and
Fury
were in total unison and the Grey did stretch out as did the bloody runner-up,I knew he’d held on/battled back and 3’s on the photo was Xmas.I am hugely relieved he has finally got his just rewards and if you could see me jumping up and down in front of the telly you’d know it meant a lot to me! Cheers!
May 17, 2012 at 14:23 #404434I can imagine well!! I watched it at work in the Media Office and they were all cheering despite them not having a penny on lol
I now have a rather tasty EW double Fury at 5s with Newstead Abbey at 8s in the 410 so fingers crossed there but like you I am extremely happy for the brave horse.
Despite backing Sohraab and Captain Dunne at 20s and 14s I have now placed my final ante post wager in this years dash on your JAMESWAY! I will be 100% confident and say personally I think he will get too far back and hit too much trouble again but have got to stay loyal to you with this one!!
May 17, 2012 at 15:17 #404445So near yet sooooo far with the EW double, hitting the crossbar and beaten by Chuckle!! The winner to be fair looked a nice sort so not too downbeat and the place paid for the Jamesway bet!
May 17, 2012 at 15:42 #404447I’m staying loyal to another old pal of mine in
Cape Tribulation
in the next at York,I just think the conditions of the race suit this fellow perfectly and Jimmy should come home on the bridle……….Here’s hoping!
Cape Tribulation
£100 win 5/2 Bet365 4,45pm York.
May 17, 2012 at 16:29 #404453Gord i put up BONFIRE as a darkhorse for the derby too in my notebook thread.Do you think he stay a 1m4 as some people say he won’t stay
Any thoughts on tomorrow racing some decent races at Newbury i like the highclere horse COMMIMENT and i know you like BURWAAZ in the sprint race but i like SWISS SPRIT
