When he first started I remember Jim constantly contradicted Francome, it’s obvious he’s not allowed to these days.
Jim being ‘Mr Ratings’ himself though Ginge should really have put it to John that
St Nicholas abbey
was rated 25lb his superior and allowing for the 5lb he gave
Windsor Palace
should have still won by at least 5 lengths pulling double and to enforce just how badly he was ridden the very next race over C/D is won by a 58 rated horse in less than a 1 second slower time now even allowing for the 16lb less weight physically carried by
Wrekin Rock
it still equates to the fact that Joseph rode his horse to a mark of 20lb less than his real rating! When a 50-80 handicap is run at much the same time as a Group 3 it tells you the latter has been run ridiculously slow, which again only confirms Joseph should have picked the winner off at anytime he chose! He chose not too!
May 10, 2012 at 21:24 #403818I agree it’s obvious Joseph was at fault Gord, and am sure Jimbo wanted to say something. Francs is on the programme to give a
jockeys insight
and you’ll find Jimbo rarely gives an opinion on such matters unless John is elsewhere. It is frustrating and I found myself saying (towards Francome) "shut up you prat". I don’t know anyone else who would come to that opinion about Joseph. Although Murtagh was also at fault, the two of them looking at each other whilst Windsor Palace got away. If you have a look at the betting, the two favs took out "
100%
" of the market in a 113.5% book; 2/5 (71.4%) St Nich and 5/2 (28.6%) Sharestan; in a 7 runner race!
Impossible to back them both and make a profit, even if it was guaranteed one of them would win
. So bookmakers practically thought it was a 2 horse race. Just goes to show how much the two jockeys (and Francome) got it wrong!Value Is EverythingMay 11, 2012 at 14:07 #403883I’m sure he says things just to antagonise Jim Mcgrath who incidentally is as spineless as a Jellyfish when it comes to enforcing ones views,
Jims one of those who loves a sneaky peak on here and I can only say it was great to see him put it down to Francome today,by his own admittance ‘For the first time ever’! Well done Jim,it certainly added a bit of spice to what was the best coverage of the week! Trying to get Johnny to back down though is like telling Sir Alex ferguson the Whiskey cupboards out of bounds!
Jim of course being a thorough Gent cant help but feel guilty for talking down to Lord John and has said ‘I agree John’ half a dozen times since!!

Lifestyle
is propping up the weights to suit his other runners,
Petit Robin

Eradicate
in this a year ago after he was beaten at Liverpool, well his
All the Aces
has just done the same thing this year and I believe he’s been laid out for todays ‘Swinton’.I believe he was a better horse than ‘Charm School’ and ‘Red Merlin’ on the flat, neither of which ran against the likes of a ‘Dr Fremantle’,No i’m not going to make the same mistake this year and am very confident of a big run from

£2550May 12, 2012 at 16:11 #404002TAPK: Form from Fury and Captain Bertie upheld there by my Global Village, given a great ride by Taigh and a decent EW price at 12s.
May 13, 2012 at 11:28 #404051Absolutely GDC,I hope you filled your boots mate!
Global village
showed a nice turn of foot in that ground and over a trip I believe suits better than the mile,he did look well in mind!
May 13, 2012 at 16:55 #404082Cheers, was very pleased with that win, had a nice EW bet at 12s due to the draw, the lad gave him a great ride!
Have taken a chance and gone in for Captain Dunne at 14s and Sohraab EW at 20s for the dash, Sohraab ran a peach of a race last year from stall 1 to finish a very close 4th!
May 13, 2012 at 19:56 #404090Its very rare I get overexcited about a horse,
Sanctuaire
over the jumps had me thinking Champion Chaser the day I saw him sprint around Taunton on his Chasing debut,I still wish he’d run in the Arkle!
Camelot
winning the Racing Post Trophy also screamed Guineas winner to me but I still have my doubts about him having the resolution for Epsom but this
Astrology
has me seeing stars,I’ve let the dust settle after Chester as it wasn’t what he beat it was the way he beat them, after a furlong I said to myself "This horse is floating across this ground and its not his ideal surface" he’s filled out incredibly over the winter,he doesn’t look anything like the horse who was beaten at Newmarket back in October.I believe this horse should take his chance in the Epsom Derby as I can see him powering home up the straight and getting every yard of the 11/2m with ease,he really struck me as a horse who’s class allowed him to handle Chesters ground and I reckon there’s another gear or two still to be used.I have really taken to this fellow and if he were mine he’d be going to Epsom,if there is a flaw in ‘Camelots’ armour this is the horse who will expose it entering the last 2 furlongs. 20/1 would be a huge price for a horse I see as the 3/1 2nd fav if he were to be confirmed as a runner. This would be a typical example of taking a chance on an Ante-Post wager as he’s not yet confirmed as a runner nor a Non runner,my years of assessing such scenarios tells me he will run but typical Coolmore will play their cards close,I’ll call their bluff and see them for £200,

May 15, 2012 at 11:02 #404206See you at Newbury Gord, I can usually be found around the pre-parade ring (far side or near to the exit towards the stables) or parade ring (corner furthest away (diagnally accross) from the winners enclosure).
We can put Racing right.
Value Is EverythingMay 15, 2012 at 15:11 #404227TAPK: Have you dipped your toe into the ante post DASH market yet? I realise the Temple is prior and a lot are double booked but as you know that’s why the Dash market is so open currently!
Mr Candy will without doubt send Dinkum Diamond there and I think Confessional will head there too this season leaving our fellow

£3050May 15, 2012 at 19:05 #404259GDC, this years Dash winner is
Jamesway
.I’ve taken the 20/1 with Bet 365.Of course
Captain dunne
is the one to beat but he really does need fast ground and not even I can predict what it will be, come Derby Day! ‘Jamesway’ is a 4yo now and to run like he did in it last year as a 3yo only cements my opinion further.
