Exceed and Excel out of an unraced dirt mare – You could read Sacred’s pedigree a hundred different ways. Personally thought the 7 looked perfect but regardless of the trip i’d be worried about her battling qualities.
She shirked a couple last year when push came to shove.April 18, 2021 at 16:19 #1537114After Snow Lantern smashed her rivals today including Enable’s half brother she has to be in with every chance now to take the 1000 Guineas. She didn’t even break sweat.
I can see her now just passing the bushes and pulling away from the field just like her dad and winning the 1000 Guineas, big ears pricked, just like her mum. She looked the real deal today and bar any problems she’s the winner.
Snow Lantern.. 8/1 .. Win

Things turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...April 18, 2021 at 16:54 #1537131Connections avoided going to Newmarket on the really fast ground apparently due to her ‘problem’ missing much of last season and went to Newbury (flat track, watered to Good ground) instead. Good to firm over 1 mile at Newmarket may not be ideal.
April 18, 2021 at 17:04 #1537138She looks to have enough speed.
Levey had a tight grip early on
its one thing avoiding one trial for another but I’d be surprised if they avoided the guineasBlackbeard to conquer the World
April 18, 2021 at 17:50 #1537150Agree with Nathan and you only get one shot at the Guineas. She has to take her chance she won so effortlessly today.
JacThings turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...April 19, 2021 at 10:16 #1537191How fast was it yesterday though? Officially Good, but they were calling it fast ground on ITV?
April 19, 2021 at 10:41 #1537196Genuine good ground but not faster than that I believe. Al Aasy doesn’t handle ground too fast apparently and he was impressive.
April 19, 2021 at 11:12 #1537199Snow Lantern is the one to take out of racing yesterday for me, no doubt. I do have a feeling she’ll not win the 1000G if she goes though but will come out of the race looking one of the best from it.
Statement for me also deserves a mention, she’s out of a mare that stayed 1m4+. She isn’t one for classics but could be a nice filly down the line. A bit more cut in the ground would probably suit as well.

Hindsight is 20/20 so make the most of it!April 19, 2021 at 13:37 #1537208Sky Lantern won the Guineas on GF though? Hard to know I guess, but she seemed very comfortable on that ground yesterday, which appears as though it wasn’t quick at all, maybe even on the softer side of Good. It was 6.7 officially.
I agree with you Jack really, she’s very exciting but possibly not one for Newmarket yet.
April 20, 2021 at 16:20 #1537302Looks like half of santa Barbara’s rivals have been scratched

Love is youApril 20, 2021 at 18:48 #1537315I think if Saffron Beach was trained by a bigger name she would be half the price. Crying out for a mile and only said to be 85- 90 % fit for the Newmarket race. Cracking EW @ 14’s if she turns up.
April 20, 2021 at 21:55 #1537326Disappointing about Shale, but need to move on!
Fev Rover’s juvenile form has a solid look to it. Her racing style is frankly a little strange, she often looks a bit all at sea but runs all day for you when she gets going. I can see her finishing strongly at the line and she might very well pick up the pieces and into a place once a few of the main contenders have taken each other on.
She would not be without a chance of winning in this field either and looks certain to run based on comments so far.
Santa Barbara could be anything but at 6/4 she has to be taken on. (I’d take your 9/2 now though Mike!
Fev Rover EW 20/1
April 20, 2021 at 22:48 #1537328Shame that Snow Lantern taken out of Guineas. Hannon was keen but owner/breeders have other plans for her.
Just hoping Sacred stays in and takes her chances now. This has certainly made life a lot easier for her and Alcohol Free not without a chance too. Jac
Things turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...April 21, 2021 at 06:55 #1537339Santa Barbara – it’s a case of how far she wins by.
April 21, 2021 at 11:52 #1537354Was really looking forward to taking Santa Barbara on but with loads coming out the race doesn’t look nearly as good. Fair play to those on Santa Barbara at nice prices but christ, I wouldn’t touch 7/4. Winning maiden, sure, but awkward head carriage, form looks rubbish and she’s inexperienced to boot. She might just be the tool that AOB says she is but I wont be paying to find out at 7/4, no way. Issue is I can’t have Pretty Gorgeous unless it comes up soft which is unlikely, Alcohol Free looks more like a sprinter than a miler so I’d be catching my head there, Sacred is a proper question mark over a a mile. Come to think of it Santa Barbara might not even need to be brilliant to win this. I’ll probably take a swing at some big EW prices on the day.
April 21, 2021 at 12:35 #1537359I agree Charlie.. all the more puzzling why they decided not to take a chance with Snow Lantern
Blackbeard to conquer the World
April 21, 2021 at 16:34 #1537377I also agree, surprised Snow Lantern isn’t going. No surprise however that Donnacha has been advised not to run Shale. This favourite, at the risk of repeating myself, is the strangest 7/4 shot I’ve ever seen. 7/4 favourite for a Classic, having won a seemingly below-par maiden. I can’t get my head around it at all.
Fev Rover, Sacred, and Pretty Gorgeous look solid each ways for me, with the preference for Fev Rover and Sacred, in case The Cartel don’t want Pretty Gorgeous to beat Santa Barbara. Thats where I’ve landed, Fev Rover & Sacred e/w.
