TTC, it’s amusing, you’d almost take from your posts that Coolmore’s chosen ones always win…….

Hindsight is 20/20 so make the most of it!April 21, 2021 at 16:55 #1537381I have a feeling they are desperate for Camelot to have a Mile classic on his stud description. Only an opinion Jack, I am used to being incorrect on various opinions on many topics! But its my opinion none the less.
I’d love this Santa Barbara to get stuffed, mind. One interview from Listen, and the market ignores the entire 2yo Pattern. I don’t like that.

I quite like Mother Earth but as her sire and that of Snowfall are dead and thus unmarketable, I expect these two fillies will be given rides suitable for the Epsom Dash to drag the daughter of HMS Camelot along and be on their knees half a furlong from home. If SB wins then it’ll be “listen, her turn of foot is incredible, listen, the speed these Camelots show is unbelievable blah blah amaaazing blah so fast blah blah”.
Yawn.April 21, 2021 at 19:44 #1537399By the way I do like Camelot, I think it was very sporting to go for the Leger with him and he was the moral winner of the triple crown.
April 22, 2021 at 06:43 #1537428I think there’s something in that personally from TTC and GAG. We don’t know for sure but I think it’s naive to think that can’t be the case. I would be surprised if Shale not running is down to that though. Would be nice to understand the reasons however and have it communicated. But absolutely no moaning from me, you pays your money antepost, you take the risk. Simples
Snow Lantern not running has got to be down to her not being good enough despite RH saying she’s brilliant. Let’s see how she develops but maybe that maiden wasn’t as good as it seemed. Stepping her up in trip this early when they could’ve gone for the Guineas is a clear pointer to say she isn’t quick enough for a mile so she wouldn’t have won anyway. Interesting to watch her career from now.
The quick pace getting set which surely must be a given with SB needing it on breeding, you’d think that would play into the hands of someone like Fev Rover because she’ll stay on late and pick off horses like Sacred and Alcohol Free who will get way too tired in a strong pace
April 22, 2021 at 09:34 #1537439Frenchy she can be brilliant and not be a 8f horse no?
They could’ve went to the Guineas, but as i said and you agreed, at this stage of her career i suspect she’d have not won, but come out of it as one of the most promising. Maybe they’ve decided not to risk ruining that promising career 2 weeks or whatever after her maiden win.
I wouldn’t be so quick to jump to conclusions on that one
The Hannon’s do bump their horses up a lot, but they don’t necessarily over-face them.On Shale i can only presume it’s off to the Irish Guineas for her. Quite surprised by it personally.
Will have to watch Fev Rover’s races back. Promising that Flying Davina- Gutaifan x High Chapparal- stayed 1m1 over in France this month on her first 3yo start. The one thing that concerns me just looking at Fev Rover’s page *not her runs yet* is that the dam didn’t fully convince at 1m+

Hindsight is 20/20 so make the most of it!April 22, 2021 at 10:04 #1537443The trip shouldnt be a problem
She stayed the trip in the marcel boussac but any chance of winning went when she was impeded several times down the home straight
The horse she got stuck behind was veering all over the track
April 22, 2021 at 10:07 #1537444French races tend to be run at a complete crawl most of the race, then a sprint, so i’ll watch them back + see.

Hindsight is 20/20 so make the most of it!April 22, 2021 at 12:53 #1537476Snow Lanterns maiden was a hell of a lot better than Santa Barbaras maiden, thats for sure. Hannon mentioned the Musidora, or bizarrely the mile listed race, at York. I’m very surprised she isn’t taking her chance and I get the impression Hannon isn’t too chuffed about it.

April 22, 2021 at 12:57 #1537478Snow Lantern looked to have plenty of pace, jockey had a tight reign from the get go
a guineas is usually a race that holds no prisoners and you’d expect a decent enough pace would suit herGaelic Warrior Gold Cup Winner 2026
April 22, 2021 at 13:17 #1537485Yeah all fair points on SL, maybe the owners think she is or really want her to be a real oaks horse then and rather than throw her in too early they are building her up for the oaks. Must be the only explanation for stepping her up already, especially if we think she would have the speed for the Guineas
April 22, 2021 at 13:22 #1537486Nice spot on flying davina Jack. Fev Rover should be fine at a mile. She meets the breeding trends okay, not convincingly but she does and gives the impression a mile is fine
With Shale it doesn’t make sense to go Irish 1000 trial and Irish Guineas it’s too big a gap especially as there’s a Irish Guineas trial on Monday 3rd which Shale isn’t entered for. I think there’s a problem that they’ve not said yet
April 22, 2021 at 13:25 #1537487Shes also ground dependant so you’d think striking while the grounds in her favour would be smart
They can’t be happy with her, the vibes weren’t exactly strong before her reappearance
April 22, 2021 at 13:26 #1537488Aye there is a problem alright, Galileo already has more than enough cudos and is knocking on anyway.
Snow Lantern – they are talking about the Mile Listed race at York for her. That baffles me.

April 22, 2021 at 13:46 #1537494They might be aiming at the Prix De Diane with SL. That’s 10F and as she bends her knee a bit that’d probably be ideal for her (remember she got pulled from a race the other week because of the quick ground).
The 1000 Guineas isn’t the only race in the world and with these fillies, especially one that’s only broke her maiden the other week. It’s not like the colts where there’s ‘stallion making’ Group 1s races and then there’s other Group 1s which are second rate to the breeding sheds.
