The New Lion will have to relax better than in the Fighting Fifth. I think he has pace but his main asset would be stamina over 2 miles. If they hold him up I don’t see him being quick enough to beat Sir Gino

Brentford and Nemean doubtful at best you would think. A match race between Gino and the new lion in terms of likely outcome.

Tiz, you’ll probably have time to eat the full five-course meal between Sir Gino passing the post and The New Lion eventually crossing the line.
Will sir gino run? I know he has an entry but i havent heard nicky come out and say he is a definite.
I would imagine he’d be more inclined to run if it was a tootle round with rubaud and burdett road and then put the race to bed after the last.
The new lion could be a spanner in works and we could yet see a newbury gallop with tradecraft and lelantos.

Sure the initial reaction after christmas hurdle was to put him away to the CH,so this could be a speculative entry.
From a betting perspective, it really makes no odds. I havent been paid since Dec 17th and i would not be popular if i threw my last few pennies on the new lion instead of bread and milk this weekend.

Given the weather forecast, with heavy rain expected between now and Saturday, it’s looking increasingly unlikely.
Nice weather down here till about 5pm last night,steady rain since and quite heavy last hour or so.
I’m not for a minute thinking Nemean Lion is up to the level, or even
near Sir Gino and The New Lion, but things happen in races, such
as when The New Lion and Constitution Hill departed in the Fighting
Fifth. Having said that, Nemean Lion is a pretty decent horse. he’s
won 3 of his last six, was pulled up in the Stayers Hurdle at the
Festival (at 16/1) and his last 2 runs have been within 2L of the
winners {Golden Ace and Potters Charm) . I think the 50/1 2 places
with Bet365, which I took 2 days ago, is worth a punt.Nemean Lion 50/1 2 places Bet365
If this rain continues the way it has been then I’m inclined to bet nemean lion as well.
40’s will do me. It could easily see Gino pulled if the ground deteriorates much more.
You may well be right Tizzards, withour Sir Gino I’d have a
darned good shout of the e/w 2 places as I stuck my bet on
on the 19th. The conditions at the moment are soft with heavy
patches. Rain is f/c for tomorrow, it all depends how much
comes. Anything more than the odd shower and I reckon it will
be heavy all round.Is that wishful thinking Mike?
