Blind Luck NAP (Life At Ten)Hello
I’m still watching you….

Only worrying thing about Kingscliff at this point is comments I recall being made by current connections in a recent Weekender.
I can’t recall the precise wording but I believe it said something to the extent of they are trying to keep him in a good frame of mind day to day by taking him out doing lots of new things and hunting a lot – obviously this worked for the horse before but if connections are admitting it’s a job of work to keep the horse in a positive frame of mind there’s always potential one day things won’t work out and he’ll disappoint despite being so impressive on his return.
Hope the current form continues but not one to have a house on, although that was a given anyway I suppose!
Cheers muchly to everyone who put it together, for yes we may have been unutterably rubbish (and cast shame on a fantastic forum) but at least fun was had. Which is after all, the very point.
Zome, some cheerleader you are!
Don’t go and see this hyped teen Vamp flick ‘Twilight’.
It’s total carp!
Any other tips people?
Some great advice being offered here, I once knew a horse who was a Spanish dressage champion that ended up over here…by the time he got here he was a skeletal, muscle-wasted mess, he loved to move and was ful of life but when in training would be stabled virtually all day apart from an hour’s intense schooling and when he went to stud didn’t even get that. Poor beautiful horse, unfortunately there was nothing I could do to stop him going back. And this was a valuable animal!
It does sounds, as Sal said, like he’s in flight mode and his problems are entirely psychological. He’s probably been put through hell and will need the most important things, time and patience. Best of luck with him and I’ll look forwards to hearing how he’ll get on now he has found himself in the ownership of understanding and considerate people!
Equitrack – I don’t know what planet you think you’re on but things are very, very bad indeed.
People are losing jobs by their hundreds and indeed thousands on a daily basis, you can interpret media scaremongering how you like but the basic facts are undeniable.
Eventually this will hit the elite worlds of bloodstock sales etc, the shift in tax for Irish breeders is interesting but they still have the knowledge and the bloodlines to produce horses that will sell.
Kirsten Rausing raised very interesting point in her recent speech regarding the breeding of racehorses in which she encouraged those who still can afford to buy to revamp their mare roster and introduce new bloodlines to their existing foundation families. Absolutely right.
Recession may hit and things will of course change, from a racing perspective it will be fascinating to see which breeders come out of it having capitalised on the current economy. [/url]
Fascinating stuff, Quarter Horses are truly wonderful and attheraces showed some of them racing not too long ago, scarily fast when bred to race but as you say Ven, operating out of a very small gene pool. Frankly over the quarter distance they make the Nunthorpe look like a hack, worth seeing if you ever get a chance. The reining horses are considerably more comfortable to ride!
Believe these horses wouldn’t be true QHs but ‘apprendix Quarter Horses’ bred purely for racing as opposed to the reining / show lines.
Racing Post reported that Storm Cat’s son Hennessey covered five QH mares and got two stakes winners.
"Pfft".
Nuff said.
I’m off for a cry now. LD, do you fancy coming over to snort a few lines of anti depressants?

I hereby dub thee Nathan ‘Danger’ Hughes…for today at least. Use it well.
Having had a weird week my word for today is ‘indulgent’, swiftly followed by ‘lazy’ and ‘cow’.
Double post – apologies
Bad day LD?
That’s the spirit Paul.

[creepy voice] “Venetia – In Kings Caple, no-one can hear you scream….”
Something like that, Zoz?
gc
Aye, that’ll do it.
The first Zoz ‘n’ Zome Production movie?
The Ventia Williams thing, is she is hetro why havent half the NH boys made a play for her
They have. But like a female praying mantis she actually eats them alive when no-one’s looking and they’re never seen again.
Don’t believe me? When was the last time you saw Brian Crowley?

gc
PMSL
That’s both hilarious and wrong and also possibly the basis for a racing based horror movie.
I appear to be practically in love with Venetia Williams nowadays. Not much gaydar going off there though *sigh*.

Alice Plunkett is a bit of a dish too i reckon!

Mate
Did you or did you not send me a text at stupid in the morning on New Years Day saying that you’re not gay in 2009?
You can understand my confusion when I got that one about Venetia twelve hours later.
Make your mind up!
Nice one GC!
