    Hi all

Re open golf, my 3 against the field are 2.5 points e/w Westwood (12/1), 1 pnt ew Goosen (50/1) and Kuchar 1 pnt e/w (40/1). Will also back them in their own respective markets re top player for their continent (top european, ROW and American) in win singles and e/w doubles.

Finally think Goosen outstanding at 18/1 in skybets top former major winner

    To all

Just wanted to say TY to all TRF members who commented on this re this programme.

Remembered these threads from earlier this year so set record on American version showing on C4 on Thursday. Just watched first 2 epsodes after recording them on skybox from Thursday and me and the good lady wife are gripped already!!!

And I bet you all say this version is nowhere near as good as the Danish one…with it being only 12 x 45 min epsidoes rather than 20 x 1 hour ones…feel the need to buy a dvd box version of the origial once the C4 version has finished!!!!

Love the links to various soaps. LOL when reading them. Just about old or should that be young enough to remember Dallas!!

Anyway re Bunbury Cup, 2 that I fancy at the prices are Doc ofthebay (16/1 at Corals) who has a really good track record. Other one is King of Dixie who has the striking booking of Harry Bentley. With his 5lbs off plus drop in ratings he’s back to a mark that hasn’t been at is more than 2 years. On top of that he’s 33/1 at numerous places. Run once at racing HQ and came 2nd. There are my 2 against the field at current prices that I have back e/w.

    Hi KF / All

Re Stewards cup, 3 that I was thinking about from that "hot" handicap at York were Tajneed, Oor Jonathan and Horseradish with preference for the last one. Didn’t have chance to check entries last night but will be doing so later on tonight. Also some good cases been made for others so will be gettting onto oddschecker to look where I can get best price on any that I think are guaranteed to make the cut.

Re John Smiths Cup, was going to ask you KF if you had any fancies as no thread last night on this in "Big race discussion" so thanks for putting them up

Wildman – Chin up re everything. I’m 35 now but when I was at uni 15 years ago in Newcastle I blew about £2.5k (Half my savings from a year out befire going working 60 hours a week across 2 jobs) before I went to uni from the April to the middle of August in my first year. Had a great Cheltenham in the March and thought I had the game "cracked" upped my stakes, started losing then went chasing it. Culminated in a horrendous day at my home track at York (Where I was born and bred) on Nunthorpe day when Lochsong and something else (Can’t remember its name but was beaten by foxhound) both getting beaten at long odds on. The former bolted to the start after I thought I had got a great opening price in Tatts and the latter ran an absolute stinker after being tipped up by the racing telegraph…who I’d phoned for the first time the night before. Those 5 months taught me the big thing around discipline re decent sized stakes and not to bet what I couldn’t afford to lose. A couple of mates I know who also love their racing have similar stories. What you describe not unusual but pleas just make sure you lean from your experience. Hope the above doesn’t sound like a sermon..not meant to be at all. Finally in terms of your punting going forward google "bechers brok blog" and follow the author Robert Gibb…Great analysis, almost as good as KF and if you like to have a small interest everyday well worth following his selections in singles as he reccomends and v small stake (I do 20 or 25p) e/w L15’s

    Hi Zarkava

A link to form on the antepost betting prices would be good as is evident on races run on any given day. Just looking at John Smiths handicap and Steawrds cup and having to flip between sporting life horse search function and oddschecker site. Also a quick ling, rather than through sportinglife link, to replays of races might be of interest to some punters.

Does the 4.10 at York on 13th May influence your thinking at all?

If so then will go and look at the 3 or 4 that immediately sprang into my mind and see what prices they are, if they are entered and if they are likely to get in on their current ratngs.

    Hi GT

Re Fadhaa today (or should that be yesterday looking at time at mo!!) I thought one of strangest rides I’ve ever seen in 18 years of betting. 2F out absolutely cruising (like Pistol used too) jockey didn’t try and press the go button then or at any point and then flatered into 5th. Lookingat it just couldn’t understand the ride at all…compare it the ride to the HC favourite that was being scribbed alone of a furlong or so before fadhaa and thnk ended up coming third 3 lengths (by my memory rather than looking at official result) in front of fadhaa…. or am I talking through my pocket here…be interested to get your thoughts….also wonder what price it traded on BF 2 furlongs out

    HI KF

Gonna follow your lead (but to smaller stakes) and do 2 e/w single CD and DF (Plate) and one e/w dble with B365 being best odds on both though see CD is now 10/1!!!! Can’t believe it was 18/1 when WH only go 15/2 (With no hint of blue on this shorter price on oddschecker!!!!)

    Hi KF (Nee TAPK)

Hope you don’t mind me barging into this conv but have wanted to get to Nottingham races myself for last couple of years, having moved to Rugby and from Oct 09 – Sep 10 worked in Nottingham. Was looking at the Oct dates around meeting up with a mate from York (Where I originate from) so if I do make one of the meetings be good to meet up, if you wanted with you and Cormack and put a couple of faces to names.

Also typing this gives me a great opp to also thankyou for Prohibit. Has a bit on in e/w single. Also contributred to 3 winners in an e/w L15 which you may remember form Cheltenham 2010 thread is one of my favourite bets….even if they are a bit for mugs!!!!

Cormack – BAlso e great as well to meet up with you, even just to say thanks f2f for the great job you do with moderating TRF

Great race and time on clock excellent. In terms of speed officados out there be v v interested to see how you rated it in terms of a figure

Really enjoyable race to watch in terms of how everything panned out. Agree a bit with you Ruby re goldi but to me seemed to emplty in last 50 yards. 1 furlomg out it looked for a fraction of seconmd and only fraction that CC could be in bit of trouble

Also talking through my pocket fab result for me. Grabbed some 13/8 with SJ just after 11 on top of 6/4 taken with B365 earlier. Had my biggest bet for quite a while. Betting with the bookies money now for rest of meeting

Anyway Roll on Goodwood for CC v Frankel presuming all goes well later for the latter.

    Hi all and especially zarkava

Can I ask what peoples thoughts are of Nathaniel and why anyone may have dismissed him for Derby. 25/1 at moment and form looks really good. Pedigree looks along right lines for derby too.

Also noted that was backed heavily – 7/1 to 3/1 – in maiden that pegassus (Frankel) won and only lost out a short head!!!!

Finally see he’s declared for chester on thurs and forecast as 7/2 3rd fav I think due to his current rating

    Hi Robert

Think your tips and write up must be being followed by some of the early odds bookmakers or you have a far bigger following than you realise!!

Over the last 4 or 5 days, within a couple of hours of your thoughts going up then price on all your tips have come in significantly and betfair price is often event shorter than best odds avail!! To the point where you could almost back at the odds you reccomend and then lay back off.

Please please don’t see this as "having a go" at you. Really Really good write ups which I thoroughly enjoy reading. Just wandered if you had also noticed this trend?

    Hi Ginger

Would you be looking at your tip for the derby as a long term tip possibly for the leger as well.

Looking at the breeding, and this race being in relative terms less fashionable, and potential possibilities re frankel (Think he’ll be a 10f horse and a mighty one at that … but the STS was prob best at this distance and still won both a derby and the arc!!) a longer term bet on the leger would appeal to me more at this moment in time…though having said that I need to look into entries. Don’t know how this works for this race having never considered an Ante post bet on this race (Leger) so far in advance!!!
