Looks a match bet between Goldikova and Canford Cliffs. I have the filly every time over Canford.
Everything else has no chance especially Coolmore won’t run anything that will Canford a race.
May 29, 2011 at 22:28 #357857Freedie Head says Goldikova runs…quick get the 6/4 i just got 300 quid. Its on the front page of the Racing Post 2moro.
QUICKKK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1 6/4 WITH BOYLES AND VC
May 29, 2011 at 22:40 #357863The Goldikova camp apparently said the brilliant mare had an "80% chance of running". What???
Canford will be at 100% for this race, in his prep run he barely broke sweat unlike Goldikova who now Freedie Head says will run, was She a bit tired bless her, lets hope she has a good rest on the way over.
Tactically this race will be fascinating. Goldikova will adopt her usual spot 1 or 2 places off the leaders and I expect Canford to be right up her a*** or a couple lengths behind max.
Paco Boy did not have the cruising speed, gears or turn of foot that Canford processes and Goldikova kicked early last year maybe to take the sting out of Paco as he barely got a mile yet only just won. Canford will not mind one iota what the pace of the race is.
She will not know what to do this time around and probably freeze on the spot.
Canford will show everyone why he’s going to get voted TRF horse of the year 2011 and I hope Frankel wont be watching as it might put him off his own race later on……

May 29, 2011 at 22:43 #357864Front page of the Racing post tomoro said she run….i don’t care really i just want the value. 6/4 in a match bet….
. Absolutely laughing lads.If you go the website you will see it on the tab Racingpost today…it refresh and show you whats in 2moro’s paper and as a result you will see the front page albeit small print but i can make it out.
Whether she beat Canford Cliffs is a different position but the value with those bookies at 6/4 can not be ignored.
May 30, 2011 at 00:48 #357871Big fan of Goldikova (who isn’t?) but Canford Cliffs will win comfortably.
May 30, 2011 at 11:15 #357920In last year’s race, Peslier took the bull by the horns and sent Goldikova on some way from home, just managing to hold off Paco Boy.
This year’s Queen Anne will be run differently; Freddie Head probably putting a pacemaker in for Goldikova. It will be a very tactical affair – cat and mouse all the way.
I envisage Hughes producing Canford Cliffs with a finely timed turn of foot to do the mare close home.
Canford Cliffs for me.

May 30, 2011 at 14:42 #357954The race I am savouring the most. I go Goldikova at the moment…Can’t have a bet on this just wanna watch!
May 31, 2011 at 21:03 #358084I don’t know how you blokes can go overboard on a favourite like Goldikova (not getting younger, a lot of mileage on the clock – relatively-speaking – in top-class races), when the second favourite is so brilliant, young and likely still improving.
Same goes for See You Then with Planteur in opposition. Maybe you’re right. We’ll see. But I’d rather bet on the second favourites in both cases, if I had to. Or get tempted.

Where do you put your bets on Grimes, please tell?
Not much in it but..
The second favourite is the favourite other than at Stan James and Paddy’s where they are joint favourites……….

May 31, 2011 at 23:11 #358106I really think the jockey plays a big factor in this. The amount of times Dickie Hughes has completely stuffed up big races over a mile is just getting farcical. I don’t think he got his boy in a good rhythm at Newbury and wouldn’t be surprised if he screws up again. Goldikova has got bags more in the tank if needed, she just hasn’t needed it. I’d expect and want her to win but I’m more than happy to keep it to a simple RFC.
May 31, 2011 at 23:23 #358107i take little notice of what freddie head says about goldikova. he always says she is better than the year before and is in great shape.
she was scrubbed along in her first race last time out, and will be so in the queen anne.
CC ftw.
June 1, 2011 at 04:36 #358115Is Planteur younger than See You Then? One goes by Australian time the other by Northern Hemisphere time. How do you work it out?

Yes, I noticed that, after I’d posted! As for my bookies, I expect you’re being satirical, but I tend to pick from those quoted on Oddschecker.
I find that Bet365 are by far the most imaginative in terms of being punter-friendly, and show sufficient respect for the punter not to inflict unsolicited advertising screens on punters wishing to enter their site. To enter Corals, I have to go to the address box and delete the last part.
I also like Victor Chandler and Paddy Power. I noticed a little free bet the other day from them and have had one or two small ones from Vic in the past, but B365 regularly put £5 in my account. The Tote seems to have improved.
Still, though I generally bet in such small amounts that getting the best price doesn’t make a significant difference, I still tend to look for it. But unless I’m flush, I tend to bet on the £5 or less minimum sites. Until the end of the day, I also generally prefer to use winnings if I have any.
Stan James often offers the best or joint-best price on the longer shots, though of course, Betfair can be a real star at times.
That little lot should teach you not to take the pee, Nathaniel!

Off topic but in reply –
SYT foaled 10/11/2006
Planteur foaled 22/02/20073 months and 12 days in it. They could theoretically have been foaled in the same season.
June 1, 2011 at 18:33 #358252Thank you Chis.
