Now looking likely to be aimed at the Arkle and still 28/1 with Stan James if anybody’s interested.

    Tomorrow’s RP the source.

I’m inclined to agree with TYF in that he’s beaten a decent horse senseless but no more so than Garde la Victoire has done on two occasions over hurdles. I know the differences between the two disciplines but I don’t have GLV as a world beater either FWIW.

Twiston Davies was bullish about Bristol Mai’s chances beforehand and has repeatedly said he thinks he’ll make a better chaser but when isn’t NTD bullish ?

I’d want to see a repeat before getting too carried away but comparisons with Fix The Rib are unfair. The latter was winning novice handicaps but Ar Mad has just taken apart what on paper was a G1 race.

Yes, their oddschecker association has always been a farce BigG. One minute they’re on the list then they don’t even show up as a bookie, then next day they’re back on and I’ve noticed the wild price discrepancies too so they’ve clearly had problems.

They were hardly ever best price but I used them, albeit infrequently, as they at least took my bets – although that’s now gone by the sound of it – even though their mobile app was cr@p.

Yet another bookie with no bollox.. Although to be fair I half expected it from this tin pot outfit.

What really ***** me off is I’m not one for playing the exchanges (I do on occasion) and can’t be ar5ed with arbing but these idiots are forcing me into the former.

and Bet365’s £50 risk free football bet is by far and away miles clear of any other promotional offer from a bookie so they get my vote as #1.

Anybody who hasn’t got an account should get one ASAP if for no other reason than availing themselves of this cash cow before they drop it completely.

Interesting because Boylesports were among the first bookie to offer a free bet if one leg of a football acca let you down and they didn’t have min odds restrictions. That’s been a regular source of steady & supplementary, if not large income to me over the past couple of years; £25 5 team acca on 5 long odds shots and it’s rare that more than one lets you down and as long as you know how to put the free bet to good use you’re going to be consistently in profit, if not exactly getting rich.

Anyhow they decided to restrict my bets to pennies and in most cases knocking them back completely, including multiples !. I could have understood more if they’d simply stopped me receiving free bets.

    So this thread made me inquisitive as to what my last 12 months of activity was with this bookie (up until virtual exclusion in July);

    Outlay £1,114.5. Return £1,854.38

a whole £750 over a year – I’m surprised they didn’t start closing shops

I’d agree in general Joe but each way ante post betting should be a big no-no unless you’re pretty sure the horse will turn up.

7/1 win only is probably a gamble worth taking though as they’ve entered him and nearer the time the thought of giving a stone and half to a previous Gold Cup winner such as Bobs Worth (previous Hennessy winner too) and numerous other dangers, may not be so tempting.

Gutted – extremely unlucky second and the e/w terms don’t soften the blow.

Initial feeling was that Dettori should have done better but I’ll calm down and rewatch later,

Happy for winning cnonections though, very nice,

The race not being shown on British TV this year according to the RP. Strange as they (ATR) have a program from 2:00 AM to 6:00 AM which includes coverage from Flemington plus looking at the Sky TV guide Eurosport are showing it too

Gosden went over to walk the course and was really impressed, saying it was a significant improvement over SA.

Agree about the travelling over (slightly shorter trip this year though) but the same would surely be more applicable to Flintshire as regardless of how well he handled it last year, at that point his season had involved one run in England and three in France. Whereas since then he’s been to Hong Kong, Dubai and back to the states and has pretty much been on the go all year.

I’m not saying he can’t win – and I think he will if Golden Horn doesn’t turn up – but if he is there I can’t see how the form will be reversed.

Golden Horn increasingly likely to go for this now and is 4/5 best anywhere else, although Racebets are a standout 2/1.

Flintshire next best in the market so anybody with a 4/1 voucher looks sure to beat SP whether the Arc winner turns up or not and if he doesn’t then you’d expect Flintshire to be shade of odds on himself.

I’d be surprised if Golden Horn didn’t take it in though as connections’ comments in today’s RP sound positive and the alternative (the Irish Champion) must stand a good chance of being run on soft ground.

Agree that 4/1 is very big Steve.
