I have a couple of accounts but I have been always pleased that Boylesports tended to offer nice odds. However, having won the princely sum of 500 euros from them in recent months, they have rewarded me by closing my account :)….well actually, they have instead encouraged me to stick to the Bingo or Casino platform.

Now Ive had a Paddy Power account for years and while they havent made any money out of me, they at least havent closed my account. What gives?

November 18, 2015 at 23:33 #1222233One of the main reasons accounts get closed Sir, is continually beating SP, regardless of you winning or losing. Could that be it?
My main firm would be Bet365, got a pretty decent record with them, and never any problem getting a bet on. Like most firms, seen them getting plenty of stick too, but they’re always my first choice, not least that they’re regularly best price, and price up the next days races very early on. They also have the bonus of being one of the few firms, who have both a website, and an app that is clutter free, and simple to use……..which is almost unheard of with most other firms sites or Apps being utterly dire, or continually bug ridden.
I like Boylesports for getting horses at a price for long range ante-post markets, that are otherwise unqouted, and to be fair, 365, Hills, and Paddy Power are not too bad for this either.
Most of the other firms are pretty much of a muchness to me, though it would be very rare that I bet with Sportingbet, as there literally doesn’t seem to be any point.

Yeah, I might go back to 365, definitly not the worst of them and I actually quite like their site. Incidentally i just managed to back creswell breeze tonight with Paddy Power. I was looking for a hundred euro….they offered me 11. Clearly the computers are busy either balancing up the books or making sure Im kept in check.
I never thought of the beat SP aspect but yeah, its possible. What I tend to do alot of us is arbitrage where i try to lay off on Betfair.

Thanks, but im sure if they had a bit more patients, they would get it back off me. Boylesports just seem to be in a hurry..

November 19, 2015 at 02:03 #1222254I’ve had a couple of problems with bookmakers too Sir H. I’ve posted about
them before so wont go in to screeds, as I did before, but I think Bobby
is probably right with the SP thing.I have accounts with most of the bookmakers, but some time ago I found
that I couldn’t get a bet on with Coral (still can’t) It got to the
ridiculous stage where I would try and bet £20 or £30 quid and was
being offered bets of 15p (I kid you not)More recently I got an email from Ladbrokes telling me I would not
be eligible for best odds guaranteed, bonuses, free bets etc, without
any explanation being offered except they had reviewed my account.Having most of the online accounts, I obviously use the one that
is offering the best ante post or early prices, so when I have a winner
or two, it does tend to be at enhanced odds.I’ve never had a problem with Betvictor, and I’ve been with them longest.
Their odds are generally pretty good in comparison for horse racing,
but definitely best on football odds, particularly correct scoring
odds which I like to dabble in.I’ve not been restricted by Paddy Power, and I’ve had some good runs
with them, more so than Coral and Ladbrokes, and I think they offer
the best incentives. I’ve had monthly emails from them in the past
showing how much I’ve made with enhanced odds and money back offers
in that month.Ladbrokes were definitely the worst for betting “in running”. Their
site was so bloody slow that by the time you got your bet through,
the price had changed. Betvictor and PP are very good when it comes
to placing bets quickly in running.Skybet are pretty good too, although I hate if you want a bet on
quickly, and you don’t have money in your account. Rather than what
BV and PP do, which is to bring your betslip up, but offering you
to simply put your 3 digit security number in and your bet is on,
Skybet make you have to go to your account section, pay the cash in
and then return to event where you start again. By that time the
odds have often changed.I use Betfred, Boylesports, Willie Hill, Totesport and Racebets, but
less so than the above three. I haven’t found much of a problem with
them.I don’t know why, but I’ve never opened an account with Bet365, but
as Bobby has found them to be good, I might as well give them a try
and see what incentives they give to join up.So that’s my take on the best and worst, I guess you just have to be
prepared to “up sticks” when any of them take the hump.November 19, 2015 at 09:47 #1222260Both, Bet365 & PaddyPower stopped all “free bets” to me as well.
The Bet365 free £50.00 was particularly good as you could guarantee a profit of between £30.00 – £35.00 by laying-off on Betfair every time.
November 19, 2015 at 09:54 #1222265Stick at least a tenner in the games/casino each month, throw them off the scent Harry.

November 19, 2015 at 12:51 #1222280I don’t think arbing should be promoted on a public forum. Is there any sort of moderation policy about this?
November 19, 2015 at 13:29 #1222297No there is not.
If the bookmakers offer “free bets” or “early prices” then they can expect this is going to happen.
I am certainly not going to delete any posts.
November 19, 2015 at 14:22 #1222298Interesting because Boylesports were among the first bookie to offer a free bet if one leg of a football acca let you down and they didn’t have min odds restrictions. That’s been a regular source of steady & supplementary, if not large income to me over the past couple of years; £25 5 team acca on 5 long odds shots and it’s rare that more than one lets you down and as long as you know how to put the free bet to good use you’re going to be consistently in profit, if not exactly getting rich.
Anyhow they decided to restrict my bets to pennies and in most cases knocking them back completely, including multiples !. I could have understood more if they’d simply stopped me receiving free bets.
So this thread made me inquisitive as to what my last 12 months of activity was with this bookie (up until virtual exclusion in July);
Outlay £1,114.5. Return £1,854.38
a whole £750 over a year – I’m surprised they didn’t start closing shops

November 19, 2015 at 14:26 #1222300and Bet365’s £50 risk free football bet is by far and away miles clear of any other promotional offer from a bookie so they get my vote as #1.
Anybody who hasn’t got an account should get one ASAP if for no other reason than availing themselves of this cash cow before they drop it completely.

November 19, 2015 at 14:31 #1222301Thanks Matron. I don’t agree with that analysis, but I know I am biased here. I trust your judgement so I’m sure you’ve given it plenty of thought. :)

I don’t arb, but what is it about the practise that makes you feel strong enough to seek censorship of its discussion on a public forum?
November 19, 2015 at 21:31 #1222339I opened an account with Betfred earlier this year, made a deposit, placed a bet and then was told I couldn’t access my account until I had sent them pictures of drivers licence, passport, what I had for lunch and proof that I can do at least 10 keepy upies.
It was all a little bit OTT so I asked for my money back and they obliged.
As for the rest, most of what BigG says resonates with me.

Can’t see the problem with being asked to do this, unless you’re pretending to be someone that you aren’t. Must be a dozen years or more since I did the Betfair KYC. Not really a big deal.

Do Corals ever arb or lay off bets?
Don’t think I was too wide of the mark when I asked if you get brainwashed when you enter Coral Towers.
