MOB declared Forget The Past didn"t  travel well or appreciate the heavy going and will be better suited to the ryanair after all he didn’t stay the trip in the gold cup either, however he will be getting an x-ray to make sure he doesn’t have a recurrence of the back problem which kept him out for the first half of the season.

not trying to be a smart alec sir harry but sean mulryan is the owners name, mulhern is a different trainer,i don’t think this stable knows the best targets for either horse,i don’t think that makes them incompetent although running In Compliance a few more times wouldve helped. If FTP wins or runs adecent second tomorrow he almost has to go to GC,other than that he goes to RYANAIR,I wouldnt rule out IC for QM.If the Game Spirit throws up more questions than answers tomorrow and leaves the QN MTHR looking fairly open I wouldn’t be surprised that it becomes In compliance target. He would prep over 2m 4f at gowran park and be perfect for a go at stiff 2m at festival rather than taking on the various, experienced contenders that have emerged for the GLD CUP

I thought MOB had stated that he couldnt work In compliance over fences and not necessarily an overall fitness workout neither of these would apply to FTP as he had two races recently, jumped hurdles and fences and wouldnt have required  much to bring him to near peak, however the trainer is a tough read and I thought it very strange that they were intending running FTP back less than a week after his seasonal reappearance over hurdles(tough one – on heavy ground).Luckily the Thurles meet was postponed a week and FTP gave a good account of himself. In view of the fact that the ground is going to be testing if Leopardstown goes ahead  I would say MOB is glad of his decision now. Wouldn’t it be interesting if Leopardstown were postponed a week or two! What then!

TVG are now showing english and irish racing daily (9am-11amEST)on their channel (cablevision channel 402)Betting thru their web site also available included with sth african pool i believe. Its the at the races feed so no newbury this weekend:(.They showed cheltenham and aintree last year, not sure what we ll get this year as those tracks are not affiliated with ATR from what i can gather.A friend informs me that Setanta/racing uk may be available on Direct tv/Dish network I  will check it out.Anyway it is great to be able to see live jump-racing again:) , thank you all for being my eyes for the last few years even though i am not a regular poster, I pay close attention to the observations of the regulars:cool:   on here

this might be a stupid question, but where does one find official handicap marks/ratings etc,Ive never cosidered it much in terms of my own handicapping/ assessments, but i’m forever reading about horses running or potentially winning off a certain mark and increasingly wondering where a list might be located?.

im getting rid of central house myself, that was the original plan, will bring in VPU or Newmill or Foreman,Taranis looks a good selection for racing post chase, i read somewhere that PN advised to leave him in TTF lists,i cant squeeze him in myself as only 2 subs allowed and i dont have BJK  in , I’m hoping Incompliance can get the better of The listener in the Irish race,I have to get rid of one from KS,WOA, OR State of play, probably the defending GC champion!

well my query is answered or is it? sporting life quotes trainer as saying horse has been treated for back ailment and will run at christmas as prep for grand national, racing form quotes trainer as saying horse will miss christmas due to back ailment and will run in new year if responding to treatment  or may miss rest of season and require surgery, either way   highly unlikely that he will be seen at all this season,,the last quote is my own interpretation of the situation  btw;)

what about forget the past?First I heard he was out for season, then talk of comeback at gold cup, but he is entered for lexus chase,he ran well enough at cheltenham for long way and who knows if he might strip fitter this season, same owner as  ambobo i think?,although placed horses at gold cup have poor follow-up records,   harbor pilot, truckers tavern, sir rembrandt, etc

Quote: from empty wallet on 10:23 pm on Nov. 20, 2006[br]Thanks for puting me right on the mark DJ and no i do not expect trainers to say we wre beaten by a better horse(though some do), but what i do expect is handicappers to look at race, look at the previous form of the horses contested it, weight it up, weigh what trainers are saying, before and after the race and rate the race properly seeing they are getting paid  decent sums to do so

<br>All i can say is i’m glad i do not rely on either sets of ratings for my betting

you,re asking the handicapper to listen to what the trainer says????

betting in america is definitely in the dark ages, ive lived here twenty years and the whole set-up is a disaster for the serious punter, its not all bad however,i like that its virtually free of charge to attend the racetrack, viewing, seating, eating and betting facilities are usually excellent,as for the drawbacks to racing in america  i could write a book!

seems to be a common thing with meade/ carberry runners  that they travel well and find nothing when asked, they have a dismal cheltenham record but still a great trainer and jockey,i have to believe that they were confident of a good run today given that the vibes from woa camp were low key, watson lake was heavily backed today.
