In the human nature there is of course a bias towards right and left. It would be no surprise if this was evident in a race horse surely?
Call me ignorant but i have.
Animals like us learn and he is in the hands of arguably the best NH trainer in the lands who’s job it is to make sure he jumps correctly and for my eye he’s learnt pretty damn fast
I could of course be horribly wrong admittedly and he may retain his jumping faults but in truth i don’t see it and only time will tell
It’s a fair point Mark that he is capable of mistakes if you go back far enough granted, but then so is every horse, on the evidence of his jumping thus far i believe he can only get better i mean he makes far less mistakes than Kauto Star and on his form in this country at least he’s only made the Aintree mistake. You have a view on his jumping to get upsides him and that may force mistakes and i respect that and time will tell, that’s if anything can get upsides him 2 out over 2 miles mind. I would simply put the Aintree mistake down as one of those things, no horse never makes a mistake.
He took a lead until 4 out and then came away 16 lengths with out even being asked a question, who knows how far the margin would be if asked to extend. No horse it seems can lead him for that long as he is still on the bridle whilst most are making their efforts. He can only go as fast as the the race unfolds and bare time is not really worth anything it’s the collation of the time to speed figures under the class, weight and conditions that are important and even from then they are open to interpretation, my view would be simple whatever speed figure he has achieved today he can certainly improve upon. Ruby isn’t going to throw the kitchen sink at him when you have to take into account he may not be 100% yet with the Champion Chase being the target for his peak and the margin of victory with little effort is mind blowing. In the Tingle creek he showed his versatility being left in the front far earlier than AP intended yet still clocked in with a big time on his re-appearance with out ever being asked a question.
The novice chase earlier Panjo Bere was only 1.6 seconds slower than Master Minded but can anyone seriously say they think he would have finished anywhere near him? Of course not. The bare time means naff all, the amount of improvement i fear for any 2 mile chaser right now to get on terms with Master Minded is far from imaginable. It’s probably fair to say apart from Aintree over 2miles 4 when he made a mistake 2 out he hasn’t really put a foot wrong over a fence.
Master Minded is freaskish in his ability, travels like a dream, wings every fence and finds when asked for his effort and without being short sighted I can not see him being beaten any time soon. Fast ground is the only chink in his armoury, probably, but then that should not be a problem for the QMCC and then i doubt Paul Nicholls would risk him on fast ground otherwise. I fail to understand how anyone can not be impressed by this beast personally, but then it is of course all about opinion, I’m sure people can gather mine is a high one for what it’s worth

Master Minded is absolute top class. It would be good to have something that could challenge him to test how good he is but we’re in the midst of a great horse and should appreciate that in my opinion
Many errors have been made evidently but it would be a shame to lose the track and I hope the project is continued. It’s a fair race track and has already staged some competitive races and attracted trainers from a far such as Mike De Kock running horses like Royal Vintage can’t be a bad thing.
I’d agree with you Equitrack, the post site is with out doubt the one of the most informative resources available and too much information is not always a good thing. You have to ask yourself is it beneficial or is it confusing the issue. I thought the recent future form addition could be quite handy, there is no substitute for detailed form study but the idea behind it could be useful. I certainly don’t go solely through the post to make my conclusions on a race so I would be receptive to any innovations that I might be able to use for my benefit personally.
In fairness mask of darkness looked pretty bad in the book but just got plunged, i certainly did not make it a 9/4 chance!
Though Jaunty Journey i was much delighted to see at 50’s

In light of many people loathing the new racingpost site what do people think of the changes ATR have been making? They were asking for suggestions from users on useful additions and to be fair they are trying to offer something different. I can’t say it has had an effect on my betting yet as i only really use the site for the videos but i think it’s good they are trying to offer users new material, though i would say they should concentrate on making the site a bit faster!
thoughts?
First and foremost i assess the horse and how they are suited to the race. I include trainer form in my handicapping and it may or may not have a significant baring on my final decision. LIke you say Gingertipster, it’s better to take it into account rather than not all
I think it’s there for all to see in both performances. Shrewd investing in my opinion

As Gingertipster stated most people probably don’t appreciate the spotlight write up. I for one don’t and making them optional viewing on the new site was a good move
There in lies the key, they’re OPTIONAL. If you don’t like them don’t read them.
He is an animal i saw him live in the world cup and his first ball was 93mph and Gilchrist was taking up round his ears!!
No Robnorth, i believe i mean dribble

I don’t mind differing opinions by any means this game is of course all about opinion. However, how Mr Wilson arrived at that opinion leaves me quite perplexed. Aeroplane clearly stays the trip. Watching the race I didn’t believe Turn On The Style had gone off too fast and couldn’t believe the lack of attention to the pace of the race. It was an error of apprentice like proportions.
Rule 156 (iv)
asking for an effort or making some other permissible manoeuvre too late as a result of serious misjudgement or inattention
For my eye they look in clear breach of this rule.
Mr Wilson that is the biggest load of dribble i have heard in quite some time sir.
Binocular is a special horse.
AP went for him to soon in the supreme and it was only his third run for Christ sake. He was far from the finished article. Celestial Halo hasn’t got a chance against binocular whether it’s soft, heavy or 4 gladiators stood down the gauntlet!
Kauto Star will wing it.
He’s a machine when he goes right handed.
