I was looking at todays racecards for any races that A P was involved in & stumbled across this on the web, with McCoy & Woods involved in the Pro Am at Limerick.

BBC Sport – Golf & AP McCoy

    Mark :)

He can clearly play aswell, I saw a clip on atr of him
and Tiger taking a couple of shots and AP’s got a good style/swing.

That doesn’t surprise me Matthew, is there no end to the man’s talents.

Quite a few interesting opinions on this game. I haven’t seen all of the games but the Germans have been the most impressive in the tournament to date. Spain haven’t played that well, but they are still there and are the slight favourites.

Germany will certainly miss the sevices of Muller who along with Schweinsteiger, Ozil & Klose have all been excellent and they all play as a team & an organised unit.

If Spain win the midfield battle and Xavi & Iniesta are aloud to pass & dictate play, supply good ammunition to Villa and he gets shots on target then, I think Spain will win.

This is a really tough one to call, but I’ll stick with my original pick for the tournament Spain and think flair, will just narrowly beat organisation & by the odd goal.

Wimbledon mens tournament is turning out to be as unpredictable as the World Cup. Federer & Nadal have already been take to five sets & we have also witnessed the longest match ever, which has been a great advert for tennis & the stamina & endurance required for the game. I feel this is probably Murray’s best chance of winning at SW19, as the top two are not firing on all cylinders & apart from maybe Roddick, Soderling & Djokovic, he must fancy his chances. For me it is now or never for Murray & putting the british mens game out of it’s misery.

This is one of the most bizarre World Cups I can remember with France & Italy out in the group stages & England just scraping through & we’ve still to see which Spain turn out tonight. I’m still sticking with my original two of Spain & Argentina, with Paraguay as the outsider. Incidentally nearly all of the South American teams are through, which shows you how difficult their group stages are compared with the European & African groups !

I think England will come through their group ok after a less than convincing start against the USA. I think the media & certain pundits build the team up so much & I’m sure the manager & the team would rather not have that huge weight of expectation on their shoulders, although I suppose the majority of them are on £80k+ a week & ofcourse you would expect pressure, because the majority of us will never get anywhere near those wages in our lifetime.

If England Win their group & Germany come second or if Germany win their group & England come second then, they will meet in the last sixteen & that would be a difficult task for England, as the Germans have been the most impressive team so far in what has been quite a dull tournament to date & certainly lacking goals.

Just heard about the six month ban through timeform radio & read the release through the press association. He has seemingly got involved in the popular back to lay strategy with the betting exchanges on two occasions with his horse Gullible Gordon & therefore should have known better, as he is not a stranger to the betting world. There seems to be alot of this going on recently in the sporting world & hopefully the fear of exposure will take the place of the greed factor.

Todays win only selection & a bit of an outsider punt.

    NOTTINGHAM 16:00 CLASS 3 H’CAP 1M GS/Soft

COUNT BERTONI 30.0 BACK (WIN ONLY)

    Win Adv. – Distance
    Ground Conditions
    Weight
    Trainer Course Record For 3yo’s

    Win Disadv. – Class

With a previous course win at the same distance & ground conditions to suit & the trainers superb course record, I think Count Bertoni odds are more than generous & should be about 12/1 .

    Count Bertoni

    30.0 to back.

I think in the UK & England in particular, we like to build ourselves up & then throw stuff, so we can fall off the pedestal. If we are losing then, it’s I told you so or what do you expect & If we are winning then, it’s too good to be true or how long will this last. The fact is that, England probably have their best chance of winning the tournament since the late Sir Bobby Robson’s team of 1990. They have a good squad of players & a top manager, so they have a decent chance, although the news that Ferdinand is out, is a bit of a minor setback. For me therer are only four teams who can win the tournament – Spain, Argentina, England & Brazil.

    BIRKSIDE 9.2 BACK (WIN ONLY)

    Win Adv. – Distance

Win Disadv. – Trainer Course Record

    I think

    Birkside

has a reasonble chance back at a favourable distance & ground conditions to suit. Should be in
    the running along with

    Lady Eclair

from the Johnston yard. Birkside 9.2 to back.
