I think it is a shame the thread was removed. Racing will always struggle to retain owners and clean up its act when skulduggery, bribery and corruption are rife among trainers and agents. It seems whenever anyone tries to shine a light into the darkness they get shut down.
I agree with Clivexx, he hasn’t had a Cheltenham Handicap winner since 2014 and I can’t see an Aintree Handicap winner since Don’t Push it in 2010. People talk about him getting horses to win handicaps to win these big races, he may have done 10-15 years ago but I wouldn’t be rushing to back his horses now.
Potters Cross ran abysmally on Saturday and The Romford Pele won again on Sunday for his new yard. Perhaps she should shut up shop for a while?
What a life she led and according to her family she died doing what she loved. At her peak she trained 120 horses a year despite never having advertised. She deserves to be remembered as one of the greats.
What an absolute shambles. No mention of it in the news section on the RP website either!
Is there any part of being a racing owner where you can reasonably expect you won’t get ripped off? No wonder the number of owners is falling. Racing seems to be a closed shop as far as this is concerned, if a prospective owner is ripped off by an agent or a trainer who do they turn to? In the Webber case it went to court but how many owners don’t go through the hassle and take their money elsewhere?
Rhodes House went through the ring for just 2k!
Hands in pockets times Frankel fans, Paul Cole has put Rhodes House up for auction in Wednesdays HiT sales he’s run once and come plum last but don’t let that put you off!
The horse was withdrawn from 2 yearling sales last Autumn, I’d imagine the owners wish they had kept one of those engagements now and got a better price for him.Charlie Poste’s comment in the RP is that “In the grand scheme of things it isn’t a massive deal, but it shouldn’t happen.” That says it all really, it shouldn’t happen but it does, if that happens in full view of the public what happens behind closed doors? I agree with Judge1 in that horses don’t mean a lot to jockeys unless they win them a stack of money and publicity, the rest are just tools of the trade.
The BHA mention traines who are taking the mickey of the current rules, is there any way to find out this information?

GoonyellaPerhaps Francome can get himself a job on ITV. I remember how bitterly people used to complain about the old team on C4, latterly people have been complaining bitterly about the new team, now people are complaining about another broadcaster taking over. ITV and ITV4 is better than nothing, no sport has a God given right to be televised.
As for Holly Willoughby conducting the interviews she couldn’t be any more fawning and craven than the current lot so what’s the problem?
