Montaff contested 9 races since Richard Guest took him over at the beginning of September 2014.
In those 9 races he was beaten a total of about 270 lengths in class 5 or class 6 races. A 9-year old horse by Montjeu should deserve a happy retirement by now……My three selections all finished 2nd today, beaten a total of just under 2 lengths!!!!
Hope some of you had better luck.Well I had the chance to read the tribute on the trainer’s website and I must say that I was really impressed. Beautiful pictures of a beautiful horse that went just too soon.
But fair play to the trainer and hopefully more could follow suit when it comes to an equine loss.So therefore people that haven’t trained any winners are not entitled to comment on racing matters or what? That means that owners should shut up. Well, if that is your world, then you can have it.
And if you care about a horse or any animal at all, you should make sure that it is not asked to do the impossible. Especially when it shows zero aptitude for something.
I still feel very sorry for the horse. What an ugly way to have its life terminated.Just read my lines and the please tell where I have stated that he doesn’t care about his horses. Nevertheless, this horse had extremely poor form and was years away from being a NH horse.
It’s sad for the horse to have met this kind of an end and you had the chance twice to post something about the poor animal.
You only defend someone who is in first place responsible for finding the suitable disipline and then proper race(s) for a horse. Unfortunately this was not the case for poor Danehill Flyer. It probably deserved a nicer end than one with its legs up in the air and not moving at all.My selections for Saturday:
1.50 Cheltenham: SMAD PLACE (NAP)
3.35 Cheltenham: REVE DE SIVOLA
2.40 Doncaster: BLACK LIONReserves:
12:40 Cheltenham: IBIS DU RHEU
2.05 Doncaster: NYANZA
1:15 Cheltenham: NED STARKGood luck to all of you. Some decent racing all day long and I hope that the Cheltenham picture becomes a bit clearer afterwards.
Stop defending trainers. They are by no means super natural. I know that Philip Kirby is a very good trainer given the material he has to handle. Nevertheless this horse had crap form since he ran in weak races at a poor track and was beaten 130 lengths in just 2 starts over hurdles. Last time he was struggling just after 4 flights and was a 100-1 shot. If you want to talk about proper schooled horses, let’s talk about French trained horses or about stables that can maintain form more consistently than just for a few days in a row.
No, but I would appreciate a nice in depth analysis. The only horse I came up with is the favourite. That is not too much. Any ideas of a dark horse that could be suited by track, conditions and trainer form?????
Got the 2nd last (final ditch) all wrong and landed on top if it.
Poor horse and a though bit inexperienced over fences he ran very well in each of his starts including the race yesterday.
Rest in Peace MojolikaRacing has been great recently. Only very few fatalities, due to perfect ground, intelligent riding and fit horses.
But this 12-year old just deserved a longer break after three very tough races on heavy going in the space of two and a half weeks or so. Very sad!!!How long will it take stuoid Lydia to tell us that an obvious fatal fall wasn’t just a bad fall?????
Sick and tired of being treated like an idiot. Is she trying to hide fatalities from the public or what?
Rest in Peace King EdmundA real shame that they send him three time over hurdles in the space of three weeks on horrible ground and then back chasing. Eight starts in three and a half months for a 12-year old. Nothing more to say. Just show a bit more respect for a horse that you will call stalwart and start crying after him. Pathetic race planning by connections.
My picks for Saturday are:
1.50 Ascot BITOFAPUZZLE
3.00 Ascot DODGING BULLETS (NAP)
1.40 Taunton FOR’N’AGAINSTReserves
1.20 Naas GLEN’S MELODY (NAP)
12.55 Haydock CLOSE TOUCH
2.40 Haydock THIRD INTENTION@ kasparov: Now that is a more likely scenario in my opinion.
I would love to see him first time out against Sire De Grugy at Newbury. It would be a more interesting trial I think since you would have the last 2 winners of the CC returning both from injury.I know that he has been confirmed for the race today, but will he run? Is he really as fit as his trainer wants him to be? And what price should he really be?
@ RedRum77
I forgot to nap someone. But I actually didn’t have a real nap anyway.
Thanks for the advice, I will think about it next Saturday.Hope I can join in:
2.10 Kempton FOX APPEAL
2.40 Kempton SAFFRON WELLS
1.35 Kempton KINGSCOURT NATIVEReserve:
3:35 Warwick CARRUTEHRSChancol????
He kept on for ages after falling in the Vautour race. He looked perfect to me. I wonder what happened to him.
