Pics for Saturday’s premier league games:
Newcastle 2 – 2 Chelsea
Blackburn 0 – 2 Swansea
Man City 3 – 1 Norwich
QPR 2 – 2 West Brom
Tottenham 2 – 0 Bolton
Wigan 1 – 2 Arsenal
Aston Villa 1 – 2 Man UtdI would love to see KStar go out and prove the doubters wrong. Absolutely fantastic horse, masterful over 2 and 3 miles.
However I can’t resist a punt on Master Minded, inconsistent as he may well be I just think that he’s due a good run…so I’m basing it on solid facts…
I think it’s great that a subtitled series is being shown on British television, we should have more of this, it is not just films, but there are some great European series that we never get to see because they are not in English.
Agreed! There are so many great films and series that come out of Europe only for us to miss them because they are not in English.
It’s really nice to watch something that is shot in a different style to the usual American dross that gets pumped into our TV sets.
Really great show the Killing! Looking forward to some more!
Cheers for the info Luddite,
it sounds good. Interesting to see the reception of the NASCAR.
Looking forward to next season’s F1 even more now. Vettel definitely seemed to lose that top 5% of his intensity once he had the title in the bag but I think that actually it is a lot closer than it was made to look this season.
Be great to see Alonso, Hamilton, Button and Webber really push Seb for the title.
American History X is one fo the greatest films ever made and I’m yet to meet anyody who has seen it and doesn’t feel the same way.
A truly outstanding acting performance from the always excellent Ed Norton.

It is a great film but best ever? That is a bit of a claim! I preferred "This is England". "La Haine" is a really great French film, it’s title translate to "Hatred" in English.
For a bit of comedy inserted into the grimy realism I’d go for "Twin Town", the Ifans brothers are sublime!
Really really tragic. Fantastic footballer, really promising manager and seemingly a great bloke.
So, so sad. He gave so much to football as a player and a manager and it was so shocking to hear of his death. Terrible to think of what a bad place he must have been in.
RIP
He’s a classy horse and has good odds at the moment, reckon he’ll go well!I don’t think City fans can have much to grumble about really.
Yes it is an absolute disgrace to the sport that Tevez is behaving like this but I think also that this is symptomatic luring players in with crazy amounts of money.
Money can’t buy you real loyalty and although in the world outside of football people are prepared to work hard for their money, inside football money is a commodity so top level footballer’s don’t need to work so hard.
He’s a really good player on his day but this sort of attitude is inexcusable and I don’t think any club should tolerate it. Imagine if he’d refused to play under Fergie, he’d have soon got a boot to the head!
engine
mean that he has seen his best races?
Hoping to make the trek to Aintree and for the weekend, would be nice to win a bit of extra beer money, with maybe a little bit left over too
Could Burton Point see a return to form?
It’ll be really interesting to see how the potential runners start 2012, but definitely keen to get a bet down before the odds drop!
Had to be the ABs eh?
The French had been far too negative on the pitch and dramatic off it all tournament!
Credit where credit’s due they got stuck in in the final but despite them being underdogs I can’t imagine that there were many non-French people cheering for them…maybe a few aussies…I put Joe Calzaghe firmly in that camp too…..one of the most overrated boxers we have had. His "unbeaten" record that he harps on about so much would be credible if he had beaten any of the champions in their prime that he ducked!
I couldn’t disagree more. Calzaghe may not have been overly flamboyant like a Eubank, a Prince Naseem or a Mayweather. In fact it’s probably fair to say that he had/has the charisma of a prune. But don’t let that detract from what he achieved in the ring.
He was a really classy boxing performer. In the latter part of his career he didnt get the knockdowns but he was a graet tactician and had genuine speed and fitness. His tactical nous and his great staying power are what kept him unbeaten. A lot of modern day British fighters could learn from that.
As for him ducking champs?! What’s to say that they weren’t ducking him? He fought Jones and Hopkins when their egos finally let them fight him. He was actually doing them a favour by taking them on. He fought Lacy, "the next Tyson" and he fought Mikkel Kessler too, probably the best fighter left in the division until he damaged his eye.
November 22, 2011 at 11:22 in reply to: Serena Williams – Surely They Can’t Let Her Off Again? #379129Ok so that might be part of their competitive spirit blah blah blah but they are in the public eye and not only should they be respectful to other humans anyhow, but they have a duty to set good examples.
England cricketer Stuart Broad is a similar character. When things aren’t going his way then he starts to throw his toys and become particulaly unsporting but when he’s going well he is the crowd’s darling.
He seems to get away unpunished often and you can’t help but ask questions given that his Father has such an high position in the ICC
Fantastic fighter and great entertainer. He, like Foreman and Ali, would have cleaned up in this generation.
Ali and Frazier was one of the true sporting rivalries and did so much good to the world of boxing. Fantastic man.
RIP
They had some really experienced players out there and besides that…it doesn’t take a master mathematician to realise that a drop goal would have won us the game. The players on the pitch need to face up to that. The argument that they didn’t get the order to go for a drop goal is weak. They all knew the score, someone just needed to bite the bullet.
Although it was a really really disappointing end to the tournament for the boys in red it was great to see the improvements that have been made. The fitness and physicality of the squad is second to none and they have really started to execute tactics well.
We still could work on our efficiency when we visit the opposition 22. We aren’t picking up enough points there. We also need to sure up our set pieces, but that is absolutely standard for Welsh rugby and doesn’t look like it’ll ever change! The line out was improved though.
