Thanks for the summary VTC I agree this could revolve around Kerry Lee s entries My initial thought is that her best chance lies with GOODTOKNOW. It is not as ground dependant as her other entries for whom the deeper the ground the better , GOOD acts on heavy but handles good to soft , is only 9 yo , stays well and is back to his last winning mark No bet yet 25 s available with 365 but will see if more offers tomorrow
Thanks all
This is a lovely thread. My earliest memory to have an impact was of Ayala winni ng the 1963 GN at 66/1 and my best friend and I having a shilling 5 pence on. As 11 year olds it was a fortune to us. My first on course memory was at my then local course York backing a horse called Yorkshireman ridden by dyed in the wool Yorkshireman Johnny Seagrave and of course winning at , I believe , 5/1 . As man of York myself this was all very special and I was hooked forever
There have been so many memories since that stand out particularly Sea Pigeon , Night Nurse and the pinnacle being at Cheltenham to witness Desert Orchid win the Gold Cup in 1989 in atrocious conditions at a course that didn’t suit him at all. What a spectacular and v brave horse . I am lucky to have visited every racecourse in Britain except Chelmsford but that first racecourse experience will stay with me always.Have backed C Longston s two LOOSE CHIPS and PEAT THE FEAT both e w . the case for the latter may not be obvious but is now 11lb below last winning mark and similarly well below several v good placed efforts in this class recently. The case for LC has already been made by Big G .
thanks Buckers and hats off to all who had fancy prices Thistlecrack.
Thanks VTC , our postings crossed just now
Winner v impressive Also want to give credit to Silvianaco Conti who ran a tremendous race and rewarded my 50/1 ew investment
THE DRUIDS NEPHEW and a speculative wager on ANNACOTTY
Have backed STERNRUBIN and JOLLYS CRACKED IT. There seems to have been very little mention of JCI on here but given last years race if you fancy stern then JCI must also come into the reckoning
I believe harry is potentially top class but the price is too short for me . REVE DE SIVOLA has an unbelievable record in this race and has won on G/S previously , and at the price is the value bet .
This is far too convoluted for me. If my selection is available at longer odds than I believe it should be , then that is a value bet to me . The rest is just semantic mathematics of dubious use in the real world of betting
whichever race the trainer chooses for the new one at the festival , I would got there without a further run . His record fresh is phenominal
fantastic run by the new one , 7/2 the icing on the cake
The New One
I believe BUYWISE has an excellent chance of being placed and reasonable prospect of a long overdue victory in this ultra competitive race
Thanks for the feedback , the Haydock run was its first on heavy ground and clearly didn’t act on it. Of course theres a chance he won t run but that’s factored into the price and why I m willing to take the chance , Corals are only 20/1. I m hoping that Nicholls will let him take his opportunity at Kempton to go for a third win in the race. Cue Card is a worthy favourite but 11/8 ? Similarly Thistlecrack is underpriced for a novice ‘ albeit a very good one in a race as hot as this . My second bet will be on Coneygree once the NRNB signs go up , 11/2 is available now but I suspect it could get bigger should Thistlecrack run. Goog luck to all
Thanks VTC and for your in depth analysis of races
