Imagine ‘Silvianaco Conti’ lining up for this off a mark of 161,he’d be giving 12lb to the current Top weight and yet the horse who’s chased him home on numerous occassions gets in this off just 145!!…Dynaste has to be the handicap blot of the year on past form here. He’s getting weight from ‘Rocky Creek’ a horse who couldn’t lace Silvianaco’s hooves. The old grey has run creditably in King Georges,Betfair Chases,Charlie Halls and even won a Ryanair and a Feltham and yet still trades at 8/1 for this ‘Veterans Chase’ a race designed for lesser lights than himself. If this fellow can show a glimmer of his old self he’ll carry this lot and TAPK will have spent just another day in the office…’Rocky Creek’ is his only danger and he too is 8/1,neither will be that on Saturday.

Dynaste would have to have a massive chance TAPK, if he can bring his previous
form to this. Good luck with him, I see he’s going blue on oddschecker this morning,
    indications are good.

I think LOOSE CHIPS has a decent e/w chance, he has nowhere near the CV of
Dynaste, but he seems to be having somewhat of an Indian Summer. I thought he put up a good
battling 2nd behind Double Ross at Chepstow in October. He showed he maintained his good form
when winning next time out, Rocky Creek 6L behind. He was getting 7lb from Rocky Creek, and
gets 9lbs from him in this. He’s getting more weight from RC because of RC’s win last time
out in the London National H’cap Chase at Sandown last month. Loose Chips was 7th in that one,
but I thought he looked like the likely winner when he got his head in front, only to run out
of steam with 3 to go. That was a marathon 3m 5f, and back at his optimum distance he’s worth
a few quid at 16/1 with SkyBet.

Great spot, TAPK. Price dropping across the boards, but sevens is still way too big. Got to be worth some each way thievery, surely?

So don't run, just like the others always do

Normally I would have taken the price before writing something like this but I’ve had 2 bedside cabinets delivered this morning and I couldn’t resist opening them…Hence I’ve missed the 8/1.Of course that means TAPK’s backs to the wall and we all know what that means…£100 e/w Dynaste 7/1 Bet365,he’ll be 6/1 in a minute now and £50 e/w ‘Rocky Creek’ 8/1 Skybet just in case the old Grey really has fallen out of love with the game.

Rocky Creek for me at the 8’s. He did me proud the last time at Sandown, and I’m not deserting him this time with only a 4lb rise to contend with, and his mark is still miles below what it was around this time last year.

This will have been the plan for most of these, and that’s enough to have me worried about most of them, though Dynaste in particular, but I’ll stick with old Rocky, and hope that he can manage to string 2 good runs in a row.

I’ve also taken a chance on Aachen at the 14’s. Can’t possibly be as bad as he was last time surely, where he looked as if he badly need it, and with him dropped 3lbs, that’s good enough for me.

I’ll plump for Theatrical Star to help the Tizzard band-wagon roll on. This month 2 years ago he finished 2nd over C&D off a mark of 139 and returns for his first run at the track since on 127. Started of this season well with a good 4th to Double Ross at Chepstow not beaten far and probably found his next 2 runs round Cheltenham coming too quick. Had a recent spin over hurdles last week to blow the cobwebs away on his first run since October and I would hope he’ll go well at 10/1.

Looks a ridiculously competitive race. At first glance there look to be 6 horses with decent chances, and that’s without going into it deeply. Couldn’t even imagine getting involved heavily personally, but Aachen looks overpriced at 20s. £5 EW.

LOL wafc you are. Bi-polar pr!ck who can’t decide whether to post nice things or bad things about me.

I’ll just tell you as it is Zark, sometimes you talk a lot of sense and contribute valuable info that even I consider and then you totally lose the plot and treat stats as if they govern racing, thats when you start losing. What would help you is betting on the right Muhammed, only one of them went to the Well.

Cant have Dynaste, TAPK. He just looks like he couldn’t be bothered. Court by Surprise for me e/w at 16s.

Have backed C Longston s two LOOSE CHIPS and PEAT THE FEAT both e w . the case for the latter may not be obvious but is now 11lb below last winning mark and similarly well below several v good placed efforts in this class recently. The case for LC has already been made by Big G .

I can’t have Dynaste on my mind for this!!

The horse hasn’t got within TEN lengths of a winner since October 2015!!

The horse has gone at the game and some would argue he is dropped in class but I just can’t see it.

Pipe has had one chase winner here in the last five years so that doesn’t exactly inspire optimism either!!

It is a tricky race but AACHEN could jump them silly and is a workable price and CLOUDY TOO ran well over too short a trip last time out

Gas Line Boy looks outstanding value at 9s. He beat almost half of this field last time in an absolute romp, leading throughout and hitting a lovey rhythm. He had them strung out a long way from home and won without being asked a question.

It can be dangerous to assume that just because an animal is 11 it can’t suddenly find substantial improvement and I suspect that’s what this fella has done. Yard’s in fine form too.

There’s a lot of Dynaste doubters on here but that doesn’t put me off in the slightest. TAPK never has taken form literally and my assessment of this race certainly isn’t based on current form. I’ve watched Horseracing for so long now that sometimes you only have to think like a Trainer and in the Pipes, both Father and son know how to lay one out for a race.Of course my Grey here is getting on,he’s 11yo but there isn’t a horse any younger than him and the race after all is for ‘Veterans’..The Pipes knew that months ago when they targeted this£60k race..(Seems a lot for such a race eh)? and incredibly have seen his rating drop from 165-145 as if by magic in barely 7 outings.’Dynaste’ is a Grade 1 winner here and I have always maintained a class horse will always show his true colours given the right conditions.I’m expecting yet another victory from a horse who would carry the likes of ‘Gas line Boy’,’Aachen’.’Cloudy too’,’Loose Chips’ etc,not one of those have even contested a race anywhere near the calibre of ‘Dynaste’.No I’m afraid if there is to be a shock defeat of my fellow it can only be ‘Rocky Creek’,he’s an e/w player, the rest are not in the same league…TAPK’s had a glass of pre-celebratory Chablis tonight!

A quiet day for me but agree with Steeplechasing and had a Tenner on Gas line Boy @ 9’s and put him in an E/W canadian with some TV runners for some interest.

    Best of luck everyone.

Loose Chips for me at 18/1. Last 5 runs at Sandown read 21217. No coincidence that 7th came when upped to 3m5f – simply ran out of steam. Back down at 3m is the perfect trip as demonstrated when he dispatched Rocky Creek in November over C&D. I like the October form behind Double Ross where he again beat Rocky Creek – well handicapped and i expect another bold run from the front at a big price.
