This is the only bit I know of, cannot find anything about the flag situation..
49. Jump races: directing riders around an obstacle (by-pass procedures)
49.1 Where49.1.1 direction markers have been inserted in an Obstacle to indicate that it is unsafe to jump, or
49.1.2 direction markers have been inserted in such an Obstacle and at the entrance to an extended lead-in to the Obstacle, and cones have also been deployed at the lead-in,a Rider must proceed around the Obstacle as indicated by the direction markers and continue in the race, following the correctly marked course.
49.2 If a Rider is unable to follow the direction markers, he must pull up.
49.3 The Stewards may decide not to take Disciplinary Action against a Rider for a contravention of Paragraphs 49.1 or 49.2 if the Rider satisfies them that he had reasonable cause.
49.4 The horse of a Rider who is found to have contravened Paragraphs 49.1 or 49.2 shall, on an objection to the Stewards under Part 7, be disqualified unless the Stewards consider that extraordinary circumstances justified the Rider in acting as he did, in that49.4.1 all Riders remaining in the race took the same course, and
49.4.2 no Rider obtained an unfair advantage as a result.Ouste fell at the final fence and was down on the floor for about 20 minutes before, happily, getting to his feet.

Hi Richard,
Are you the jockey wth the most tattooes? And how many do you have?He is recovering from a operation to one of his hips, which I think he had at the end of November.. (I used to work with his sister-in-law at M. Jarvis’s)
He won’t be back until the turf season in March
Royal Collonges is at Paul Nicholls, he has had 1 run at Pau 23/12/08 was 3rd. And is owned by the Potts.
Alison Thorpe has another half brother Olmeto Collonges a 7yr old Brown gelding, last ran Aug ’09.
Quadrette Collonges(full sister to Royal Collonges) a half sister 5yr old grey mare, ran yesterday at Auteuil trained by M. Rolland.. was 2nd, has had 10 runs once out of the frame.
There is another half sister, trained in France, but not been on course since Dec ’07 ..Hope this is some help.
Racing Post: TRIBUTES to Chris Hoggard, the popular
proprietor of Malton’s White Rose saddlery
business who died in his sleep on Thursday
aged 53, have been led by the town’s
trainers’ association secretary Noel
Scaling, who described him as “an
amazing character”.
Malton’s racing community has been
shocked by the sudden death of Hoggard,
who had run his business in the town
where he was born for 25 years, along
with his wife Wendy, herself a master
saddler.
Hoggard, a diabetic, suffered various
health problems for much of his life.
He underwent two kidney transplants
and was fitted with a prosthetic limb
after he lost a foot through problems
caused by diabetes.
Scaling said: “Despite everything he’d
been through, he just got on with life and
enjoyed it. Although he wasn’t too well
about six weeks ago, he’d come through
that and was working the day before
he died.
“I found him an amazing character
who had a tremendous racing knowledge
and an appreciation of all things Yorkshire,
especially cricket.
“He was hugely well known and liked,
and I’m sure everyone is going to miss
him terribly.”
Hoggard, a former apprentice with
Jimmy Etherington, had gone full circle
in the last year or two by having a halfshare
in two horses trained by Jimmy’s
son Tim Etherington at Wold House,
where Hoggard had re-sited his saddlery
business in a redeveloped part of the
historic yard.
The Racing Post’s Tom O’Ryan said: “I
knew ‘Choggy’, as most people called him,
most of my life. We went to school
together and went into racing more or
less together.
“His enthusiasm for the game never
waned – he was passionate about it – and
he had a remarkably positive attitude to
his illness problems over many years.
He was a very popular guy and his
death has come as a huge shock to all.”
Russ Garritty was another with fond
memories of Hoggard, who, through
White Rose Saddlery, sponsored the
former jockey for 15 years.
Garritty said: “He was a true gentleman,
a man of his word, and I will always
be very grateful for what he did for me.
Everyone who knew him is going to
miss him.”

Has Emma Jane been injured also?
Yes, split a pastern… quote : Willie Mullins said: "She’s going to the veterinary hospital but should be okay given time."
very sad indeed, he was a good little horse and did very well for the Waley-cohens
She is a very talented rider and is from my mothers home town of Berkeley in gloucestershire (hunt with mustard jackets and covers some amazing countryside) She was/is based with Dick Bainbridge and her other half is the assistant to Andrew Balding. Think if my memory serves me right she has been champion lady point to point in country or south west..
the good news is that she was 2nd…….. well done girl
He was not put down… he sadly died of a heart attack in the vets box in the stables, his lass told jonjo he was not himself, and the vet was just about to look at him when he laid down and went to sleep, very sad, one horse I have followed, for the last few years…..
RIP Warrior
Yes this is very sad, and Kim took it badly, he was one of the family and a excellent servant to theyard….
I am very sad to hear this, I have him has a friend on Myspace and we would send each other messages about racing and he was looking towards coming to the UK and was wanting to go to Ascot. We even sent each other postcards from our holidays.
RIP my long distance friend
Love and hugs to all his family and friends
