As befair points out he was really unlucky to be around at the wrong time, with a mass of great hudlers such as Night Nurse, Sea Pigeon, Monksfield , Birds Nest etc..
If memory serves me right these came straight after another group of great hurdlers such as Comedy of Errors, Lanzarote, Bula etc.
Happy days, or am I just remembering things through rose tinted glasses

    Don’t forget Gay George.
Fantastic fast ground horse until his fatal fall.

    Thanks for the kind words.
Sonny Red missed the break or it would have been Champagne and not Brown Ale with my prem butties last night.

Have backed Sonny Red to small stakes.
He has a race like this in him, is well drawn and has acted at Ayr before. Nicholls thinks the world of him.

At 40/1 e/w (pay first 5-Bet 365 and Betfred) he’ll do for me.

Sir Gordon Richards once rode 12 consecutive winners including going through the card at Chepstow (6 races)

in 1933, comprising his last mount at Nottingham on October 3, all six winners at Chepstow on October 4, and the first five at the same track the following day.

Very distasteful thread, IMO, together with the other one about Emma on C4.

Seems to be all about how females in racing

    look

Appearances are of course important but if I want to ogle at pretty gals I’ll go somewhere other than C4 racing.

    knew there’d be one.

I was complimenting Emma In mine on Saturday, thought she
looked amazing, nothing wrong in that.

Not particularly referring to your comment just to the underlying tone of every woman in racing whether a rider or journalist being more looked upon as a piece of meat first and a professional second.

BTW, I’m sure there’s far more that "one" who share my views.

I’ve not been to a festival since Reading 78, but if I was at Glastonbury I would try to see

Gorillaz Willy Nelson Muse Shakira Seasick Steve Jackson Browne (acoustic stage pref.) Ray Davies Paloma Faith Mumford & Sons Delphic The Drums George Clinton Jerry Dammers Toots & Maytals Nick Lowe Al Stewart Richard Thompson Judy Collins

I would run a mile from

    Dizzee Rascal and Hot Chip.

Agree about dizzy rascal but disagree about Hot Chip, saw them at V-Festival and thought they and the atmosphere they generate were brilliant. Also saw muse and stranglers there. Muse obviously top class, but despite liking a few of their tunes, wasnt that impressed with the stranglers live. Think a pub grade cover band could have outplayed them…
Quite like Seasick Steve also btw…

I bow to your having seem HC live but I thought they were awful on Jools a few weeks back.
Maybe you just can’t get the full appreciation on TV?

The only band to watch at Glastonbury Moe is The Stranglers, they will steal the show, mark my words!

    Can’t imagine them sans Cornwell.
Do you think that he’s been adequately replaced?

Sad news, not many left now.

ND was the best flat race sire in living memory, IMO.
