Just been told that he has died aged 18. Does anyone know anything?
If true I am very sad, adored him.
July 2, 2010 at 22:52 #304261Well, it is true, so very sad about this. He had been unwell for awhile and of course it showed in his infertility trouble. Really deserved a long happy retirement. What the F is going wrong here? Too many stallions lost in weird ways.
He was such a beautiful and really really brave little horse throughout his life. The tiny one with the great big heart. I guess 18 is a long age for a racehorse but not long enough.

I had a soft spot for him as a sire as well.
RIP old friend
July 3, 2010 at 22:30 #304481During the 1997 flat season you could make a strong case for Singspiel being the best horse in the world. He won the Dubai World Cup, the Coronation Cup in a canter & also won the International at York. His only defeat that year was in the King George when the ground turned soft due to heavy rain on the day of the race. In my opinion he would have beaten Swain, Helissio & Pilsudski that day had rain not arrived.
Unfortunately, he missed his intended final run at the Breeder’s Cup due to injury.
I’m very sad to hear of his passing, he was a truely world class racehorse.
