He’s set to ride Cesare and Zidane for JF on Saturday, but they’re not CPS horses.
Let’s see if he gets on one of their high profile runners soon.Surely it will be won next week. Champions Day card shouldn’t be so unfathomable.
Dunno about that. There’ve been some big priced Ces and Dewhust winners in the past. Maybe the Synds will cover all the bases as there’s so much in the pot.
I’ve done that too! If memory serves there were a couple of 7/2 joint favourites and I must have accidentally ticked the wrong box. Fortunately though, the one I put the money on did actually win with the one I meant to back coming nowhere. Got a shock when I logged in a couple of weeks later and saw the balance I had sitting there.[
/quote]Similarly, I was at Donny a few years ago and fancied something in a handicap and "backed" it with a boards bookie. It ran moderately and I was just about to throw the ticket away and I just spotted that the race winner’s name (Royal Milennium) was on the ticket. Don’t know how it happened but a winner’s a winner!

There’s a interesting Tobougg running tommorow at Wetherby called Starbougg of Keith Reveley’s PPG, worth watching the price I reckin especially at this track!
Ta for that!
Be interesting to see how his get do over t’sticks. Also, Plavius, the $9.2 million Plavius colt is down to run next Tuesday.
Confirmed for the 510 at Leicester today.
I believe Roger Charlton’s horse Prime Exhibit is decent so Plavius will have to be on his game to make a winning debut.and I have heard stories that he isn’t the nicest of persons. Only hearsay of course
ColinAs you v’e only "heard" it it means absoloutley nothing. Martin Pipe was supposed to be a bit aggressive but did that take anything away from the man?
My only meeting with Martin Pipe was before Welsh National Day a few years ago. He was chatting to (the other) David Johnson and I asked him to sign my racecard which he did very willingly. Without being asked he also gave me a tip for one of his horses which came a close second at a decent price. This was just one meeting and I’m sure we all have our off days but he went up in my estimation on that day.
just wondered; if you owned or trained a horse and you could have any jockey in the world to ride it who would you choose? I think on the flat I’d still want Kieren Fallon and over jumps probably Graham Lee….
Sticking to W Europe (I don’t know enough about US, Down Under etc.) I would want Dettori and either Timmy Murphy or Paul Carberry.
"horse in the all blue of Godolphin, formerly trained by Mick Channon, third to a horse who ran the quickest derby time this millenium, if you can’t get it in thirty seconds this games not for you".

Tobougg.
Saw him win his debut at York.
Nice horse on fringe of top class.At stud now. Here’s his link;
I wouldn’t be singing from the same hymnsheet as yourself on every matter you raised, Peter Poston’s Ghost, but I do love your username! Presumably you’re still trying to get some sort of win out of Peggy’s Pet’s Ghost all these years on?

Breaking news!
I just won the Celestial Cup run at Elysian Fields with Church Mouse. He started at 1000/1 and I was on. Jock Skilling rode a blinder

I’ve heard stories that he isn’t the nicest of persons. Only hearsay of course, or you might even call it gossip, but we do love a bit of goss don’t we!
A friend of mine approached AD and Claude Duval at the Arc a few years ago asking to get autographs on his racecard (Clare Balding had already happily signed it). Both Alistair and Claude were the worse for drink. Claude obliged but Fat Al told him to F*** Off.
My friend has the habit of poor timing and is a bit of a boring git but he didn’t deserve that.I really like McCririck.
He’s been around almost every week for the last 25-30 years and familiarity breeds contempt in some quarters.
I’ve spoken to him a few times on courses and he comes across as a really nice guy with a business brain and a great sense of self-mocking.I wonder what Tanya thinks of him? My guess is that that she loves him dearly despite his apparent rudeness. Anybody notice Clare Balding rarely looks at Carson when they’re talking? She’s looking out for the next item, be it a horse’s conformation or an interesting interview subject coming on to her RADAR.
As mentioned, McCririck Piggott, Dettori and maybe Carson are the only racing people who cross over to being a nationally recognisable figure and the possibility of encountering the Fat Lump of Lard is a highlight of some people’s racegoing experience.
I love his banter with Barry Dennis and Tommo. Priceless stuff.
I think the game will be the poorer when he goes which unfortunately may be soon.
Am I missing something here but is there a reason why Spencer has to ride Excellent Art ?
PPG
My first post here but I’m an ‘ornery git so I’ll start as I mean to continue. Spencer has ridden Excellent Art since French 2000 when Ballydoyle had 4 runners and other fancied horses in Ireland on the same day. They were stretched a bit thin for riders so JPS got the mount and did OK and with a bit more luck would have won the race. Next at Ascot he kept the ride and won. As AO’B has run the horse only in UK since, Fallon not in the picture and JPS stayed on but patently outridden by the Sardine on Raimonti. Don’t think Spencer would get the ride in USA but am not sure.Since when has he been Ballydoyle’s first choice in England ?..he hasn’t ridden anything other horse for O’Brien in England all year.
PPG
He hasn’t. See above. After the Antonius Pius escapade last season, I am amazed that Spencer is still being used at all by Coolmore.
PPG
Spencer last rode AP in 2004. The horse ran twice in 2005 under Fallon and was last of 8 and 15 horses. That horse would make most any jockey look bad!I am not anti-Spencer but to me he’s a gaffe-track jockey. I think there are mental weaknesses; temprament issues, that impact his decision making. The lack of success at the top level and the number of suspensions incurred would back that up.
PPG
He has some weaknesses which will always bring him flack but also wins some races nobody else would. You pays your money…If he’s that bad, then lay his short-priced mounts on BF.Surely Mike Kinane is a perfect pilot for Excellent Art. An experienced jockey capable of making decisive decisions in big races.
PPG
If EA was mine and he goes to BC Mile next, I would use a local pilot.- AuthorPosts
