The last time I ever back a horse trained by AOB and ridden by Joseph. Magician was the final straw. he blamed the ground and yet Magician, I think, won on heavy ground at Chester, after which Ryan Moore said how impressed he was. It’s all far too mysterious for me

California Chrome is in a class above the rest of the 3yo crop.

Thank you, Miss Woodford, your simple statement saved my bacon yesterday

4 unbeaten colts, 2 Frenchmen, a Spaniard and a talking horse or two. Haven’t been this excited about a race for awhile. Fingers crossed for Kingston Hill, loved the way he loped through the last couple of furlongs at Doncaster

Given time, I could see Rishi becoming a well-loved TV man but, sorry, imho Mick’s accent is a little too strong for comfortable listening

Globalisation can’t come soon enough to racing. No medication, no pacemakers. P Cosgrave was stood down for 6 months last week at Meydan for obvious team tactics.

Didn’t Willie Mullins say the other day that the reason his other good hurdlers wouldn’t run in the CH is because they can’t win? That seems to suggest that he thinks the Fly is a good deal better than them, doesn’t it?
