That’s a tough one. Have to say I have 3.
1. A photo of my first winner as an owner. Kittochside Lad at Hexham 12 years ago.
2. A photo of me presenting a prize so Fos Llas last year when I completed getting round all 60 courses.
3. My members badge from the void National in 93.January 26, 2012 at 21:36 in reply to: 48 hours before a race and you don’t know if horse will run #388408Comments like the one above are why I rarely contribute to this forum. My take on it is that the horse still has a problem and he desperatly wants to get a run into the horse prior to cheltenham. When it boils down to it first priorities are the horse and the owners.
Sorry if I’m missing anything here but what was wrong with that?????
Just looked like a jockey looking after a top class horse on its first run of the season.
Sure the horse will come on for the race and be fully tuned up for the Greatwood in a few weeks time.
Hi Jim,
What are the best and worst horses you have ever ridden (hopefully you won’t mention the horse you rode for me in a chase at Catterick many years ago).
I have it in the back of my mind that you once rode the great Quixall Crossett?
Re, Racegoers Club,
Identity Parade was combined with another called Nouvaire Maire who was with F Murphy, but he got injured. I think they usually give a refund to members or offer a replacement…Henry Cecil’s filly is called Violet’s Gift
and was named by a member.
They have another called Epic trained by Mark Johnston and won at Doncaster recently but lost again since. Seems to win only when I don’t back it…
For this coming jumps season they have 2 unraced NH bumper types. One with P Hobbs and the other with Mr Henderson, so it will be nice to visit their stables for those in that group.
I’ve been in a number of clubs in my time, including West Berkshire [which is fine if you live in the Lambourn area], and others not so worthy of mention…
I like Racegoers.
Nouveau Maire sadly had to be put down following an injury sustained at Catterick in February
Hi, the Racegoers Club also run owners syndicates. For the flat this year we’ve horses with Mark Johnston and Henry Cecil. They also have national hunt horses too, one of which Identity Parade with Donald McCain won her last two hurdles. They try and have one group in the south and one in the north. Have a look at their website racegoersclub.co.uk.
I’ve been in a few of the groups and can recommend them, its not too expensive as they lease the horses.
They also arrange stud and stable visits as well as the discount admissions to the races.Hi all,
I owned a share in Identity Parade last season and have just received the renewal notice. £180 for the year but existing members have first refusal. Can’t see there being too many shares available.
She has been back in for 3 weeks and may go over fences at some point soon.
There are 2 possible reasons there is no UK flat racing today.
1. No courses bid for a fixture today
2. It may have been built into the calendar so that everyone got a rest.Either way I don’t care, I’m off to Perth and really looking forward to it.
I was stood at the last fence and so saw it ‘live’. Still can’t quite believe he stayed on.
To make matters worse he cost me the forecast!!!
It’s a horse a lot of people won’t have heard of but I’m following as horse called Quinder Spring.
It’s trained by Lucinda Russell for her parents and has won 6 straight point to points this season. It has been running in P2P club members races so far but has won most very easily.
The only horse to even hive it a race was last tme out at Balcormo Mains when Benbeoch got within 5 lengths of him. Benbeoch won a novice hunter chase at Kelso on the bridle this afternoon.
Could be very decent horse in the next few years……
April 2, 2010 at 09:24 in reply to: Which flat horse would you like to have seen over jumps? #287119I’m going for Dancing Brave, purely because he was schooled a few times over hurdles even though he never ran over them.
Guy Harwood always used to school all of his lesser 3 year olds over hurdles for a bit of variety. At the time they didn’t know how good Dancing Brave actually was.
Mark Perret always said that he was a natural.
Depends how picky you want to be.
I was at Musselburgh today and was stood for a few races at the last hurdle and although hill would be pushing it a bit, it isn’t completely flat.

Would agrre with you on Vncent O’ Brien.
The fact that he won the National for 3 consecutive years with 3 different horses is enough for me.Apparently he was quite good on the flat as well…….
Placed in a Gold Cup as well I think….
Article on Sportinglife website this morning saying he’s being targeted at Doncaster on Feb 6th to return.
On the running of Nouveau Maire all I can say is that the horse wasn’t 100% fit.
The trainer has had problems with his gallops due to the recent deluges and so the horse was several gallops short, being given a quiet run so that it would be right for a run over Xmas.
Also likely to go back to 2.5 miles next time.
12 days is fair and everybody makes mistakes.
But the fact is that it’s a jockeys responsibilty to know how the course is laid out at all times.
But case closed, sure he’ll be riding plenty of winners soon!
Found a website called Grand National Anorak, Hot Tomato fell at 30th fence in 1983 – haven’t a clue who rode though
