It was last years Irish National that confirmed to me that

    Sunnyhill Boy

was a good thing for the Kim Muir,so your ‘Quiscover Fontaine’ has to be a player mate in this years.Of course I’m all over

    Magnanimity

,at 25/1 and 30’s!When he finally reproduces his RSA run from last year,he wins a big race, patience is a virtue Tommy.I say it time and time again that if a horse produces something special (his RSA run) he WILL reproduce it again…………..Its just a case of WHEN???

Those watching the markets on a daily basis will have noticed that not only has

    Burton Port

drifted like a barge for the past week but so too now has

    Sunnyhill Boy

,both horses trade around the 14/1 mark on the High St but on the early warning system also known as ‘The Machine’ the pair have traded at 50’s and bigger,I love a bit of that! Jonjo has reacted to the alarm bells and calmed the situation down by giving an upbeat bulletin about his charge.Nicky ‘i wouldn’t tell my own mother’ Henderson still has said nothing about ‘Burton Port’s participation, where’s the now famous quote ‘Well someone must have sneaked in with a Hammer during the night’!

I thought of you darren when

    Cirrus des aigles

won,Well done mate,I’m looking forward to Aintree now and the Irish National and then of course Newmarket, plenty to get excited about!
    Here’s a shot I took of

    Fury

from Saturday, you can see both he and his groom fancy themselves quite a bit!

Not sure about Fury, yes he didn’t like the ground but will probably go up a few pounds for that run so is by no means certain to land a handicap in the near future. The Newbury Spring Cup would usually be a target but I doubt his trainer will try him too hard again until the ground comes in his favour.

I was up at Doncaster yesterday Eclipse just to cheer home

    Fury

,I waited near on 30mins for him to appear in the pre-parade ring at my fav spot to capture a portrait shot of him.He walked straight past the whole field and into the main parade ring as if he was Royalty,I eventually got my shots from there,he had 2 handlers walking him round and he looked the fine specimen i had expected to see,he was very fit and relaxed so I was pretty confident of a big run! Ok he was beaten a length but at no point did he actually look like winning,he travelled well enough, never got the clearest of passages but when push came to shove he blatantly never let himself down so I actually felt I was lucky to get placed, had the rain came he would have won,no question. However he was well handicapped for the race and was defineately tuned for the moment so I wouldn’t go overboard about him again unless he gets soft ground!

    Captain Bertie

has ‘Spring Cup’ written all over him, worst ride Ive seen this year,Robert Winston ‘bottled’ an opportunity to go forward, instead he went backwards big time before flying home in the ‘Spring Mile’. Barry always has one ready for this meeting and this fellow was certainly that,he needs a good break between his races so if the Newbury race comes too soon watch him in the Hunt cup at Royal Ascot!

There are times when you have to come out fighting! My Lincoln horse

    Fury

has just been headed in the betting by one of his biggest dangers,

    Eton Forever

,money talks and obviously punters are going with the horse with excellent course and distance form,a reasonable weight and a shrewd trainer,I can see their logic………So why am I going for a horse who never beat a single horse home in his last 3 outings, stone cold last all 3 times!    Several reasons,His Trainer, his owners, his handicap mark, his 2yo form,he’s lightly raced and the fact that he’s been gelded.Kieran or Johnny riding would be ideal and a high draw will see him come down the stands rail, simple as that! 8)

    Fury

    £100 e/w 9/1 Bet365 Lincoln.

Just taken the last of the 10/1 with Paddy Power today on my very strong ‘Lincoln’ fancy

    Fury

,I’m struggling to find a danger incredibly as if this horse has benefitted from being Gelded then a return to the form that saw him win the Tattersals Million will see him win this, besides he’s a damn sight better 98 rated 4yo than his old stablemate ‘Penitent’ was when he won a couple of years ago! The Godolphin pair ‘Man of Action’ C/D winner and ‘Start Right’ could be players!

    Fury

    £150 e/w 10/1 Paddy Power Lincoln.

I know Toms not been tipping this fellow up….Yet! but having just got off the phone from Billys,it would appear that there has been considerable interest in the chances of

    Fury

for this years Lincoln,so much so i felt the need to go in again, unfortunately the 14/1 went very quickly! Somebodys let the cat out the bag and 11/1 is their best price now! Thankfully

    Bet365 are still going 12/1

    ,here we go again!

    Fury

    £100 e/w 12/1 Bet365 The Lincoln, Doncaster

Surprise, surprise Tom the Seagull pinched the crumbs off my Ante-Post table……..Again!

Normally i would spend a good couple of days studying The Lincoln Handicap, today i scrolled down the initial 97 entries and guess what the winner jumped off the page! I said to myself this fellow will be quoted in single figures he ticks every box and just to confirm the regard i hold in him he’s trained and owned by previous winners of the race William Haggas and Chevely Park stud.Incidentally Ladbrokes offered me 8/1 so i took the 14/1 with William Hills, the horse is

    Fury

    Get On!

    Fury

    £150 e/w 14/1 William Hills The Lincoln.Doncaster.

Happy with that run, defineately never let himself down on the ground!

KF: I have only backed Eton Forever ante post BUT my outsider for the race is Brae Hill. Richard Fahey is excellent at getting them ready FTO and this one does well at Donny too!

Waiting for confirmation that he runs and also jockey bookings. Nice EW price though :D

Great call GDC. Hope you got on!

Here here Joni,Excellent stuff GDC! I cant believe he went off 25/1,runner up last year and that, incredible!

I have had one additional small each way bet in the World Cup. For a horse who finished 3rd last year and needed his first run a couple of weeks ago,

    Monterosso

is a big price at 25-1.

Joni you may surprise some on here putting up 25/1 winners but not me! I expected it later rather than sooner mind! Brilliant start to your thread,Well Done!
Yes I did the horse in question,No surprises there eh as I always said he was a proper Group 1 horse,Roger tweeted a picture of him this morning so I went in again, dissapointed with ‘Margot did’ and ‘Prohibit’ though, but did lay the Ar*e off ‘So you think’ the cart horse I said he was, odds on in running too! 8)

‘Why people hate Bookmakers’……’Why people hate Trainers’…..
‘Why people hate Trainers that inform Bookmakers their horse isn’t running but let punters continue to back it’…..I’ll just keep taking 75’s,65’s,60’s,55’s 50’s about a 12/1 shot for the Grand National until I’m told its not running…….Whenever that may be!

I have a laugh at Seagull’s tips every few days – guy’s practically as bad as i was last year! I guess he was better ‘back in the day’ or something…

‘The Seagull’ has to put them up virtually daily Wildman,I couldn’t do that,i’ll go a week without a bet at times easily.Toms Saturday record always seems to read well,he’s pretty consistent at something we all aspire to being so I take my hat off to him.All this ‘Worlds greatest tipster’ rubbish from his Clique makes me laugh,I know half a dozen on here who could beat him over a year! I wont mention his Ante-Post record as very few bother with betting weeks/months in advance but I know someones who’s in a different league! 8)

The Sheemas a 2 horse race in my book darren the exposed and enigmatic

    St Nicholas abbey

over a 11/2m should get the race run to suit and he can quicken! The dark horse is

    Beaten up

,its not very often I cant get a handle on one but this fellow really could be anything,he looks like a class horse and moves like one,the clock tells you he is a bit special but its a massive step up from Doncaster handicaps to Dubai Group 1’s worth 2 million!

Eclipse, have no fear I’ve been up at Doncaster allday with my 2 Watering cans, one in each hand,I’ve watered the whole length of the course unfortunately I ran out of water so could only do the far side rail.I will have to hope

    Fury

    is drawn 1. 8)

Darren I have been reading your work for over 21/2 years now and have been a fan of yours since then! Why? Because you have fantastic Foresight, not only are you a good judge of a horse you are an excellent judge of a target and this

    Imperial Monarch

does have Irish Derby written all over him, more so than

    Camelot

who imo is blessed with more speed than stamina,he wont be contesting the ‘Derrinstown’ for sure!
