In fact, very few people seem to be taking any notice at all of what is coming over the tannoy all day long generally.

Joking aside, I don’t want to knock Cirrus Des Aigle’s trainer but, in an era when trainers can get double-digit age staying chasers ready to run for their lives after a year off the track it has to be a BIT disappointing she’s still talking about ”needing the run” after the horse gets beaten in a race as important as the King George on its second run of the year.

I’m glad they tried to win The Derby with him, I’m glad they brought him out quickly at Royal Ascot (no one was knocking THAT decision after he won), I’m glad he went for the Sussex Stakes AND the Prix Jacques le Marois – there aren’t THAT many Group 1 races in Europe and both were logical targets.
I hope they now prepare him for the Prix du Moulin and the Queen Elizabeth II Stakes.
