Biggest bet ever was a couple of months ago on Await The Dawn, horse lost and I lost in excess of £500. didnt feel too great after or before as knew id done my money. however it was winnings and taught me a valuable lesson, now i have a betting bank and bet like this 10% of the bank, and always stick to 10% so if i win the next bet will be higher but lose and it will be lower, this way if hard work pays off i could bet 1000s and it wouldnt be a problem. if i lose then could be a £1 a race man, either way it dosent matter as its money won and wont hinder the mortgage payments. wish id done this ages ago!

    What they seem to have done is this: €20 x 5/1 = €100, + your stake = €120

    Divide that by 2 = €60, minus the €20 = €40.

Thankyou, saves me emailing them and moaning, is abit crap but cant complain about free I suppose.

Getting used to seeing AOB odds on defeats and it just confirms for me never in any circumstances bet odds on.

So You Think 4/11 at Ascot
Await the Dawn 8/13 at york
    Seville 5/6 at york
Fame and Glory 1/3 at Curragh
Fame and Glory 8/13 at Curragh

Was given a free £20 bet on this race by PaddyPower and decided against the favourite, mainly because I wont bet ante post anymore and certainly wont take anything at odds on. Went for Duncan at 5 to 1 and got back £40 ?? How does that work?

    Minus £20 free stake
Minus £10 stake as dead heat
    £10 at 5 to 1 without £10 free stake should return £50 ?

After 2 good wins at Doncaster today Alanza ( thanks darren83 ) and one of my own selection Meeznah i’ve gone for a big bet for me with todays profits 300 on Sea Moon. Cant see any reason why it wont run a huge race. I do always seem to get it wrong when putting good money down :?

Couldn’t agree more, class horse in the race by miles. Just dubious about putting alot on ante post, I would be happy with evens on the day.

I did fully expect a much better run from ATD, had my seasons winnings on today. wondering if out of form / virus in yard excuse will come up soon. Treasure beach and cape blanco excluded as they left for America before virus hit lol
I dont blame JOB or anyone but myself for the bet, I really fancied this one and either completly wrong and ATD is a group 2 horse at best or Mr sunglasses 8) stables going to be completly out of form for rest of the month.
Congrats to those who fancied Cecils, there really are some good judges on this forum.

First time poster here wanting to say thankyou for a great forum, with some fantastically knowledgeable people adding their opinions which I always take into consideration.
The biggest bet ive had in my life is already on Await The Dawn at 11/10 usually I win 5 or 6 races on the bounce then go for a big bet and get beat (never can discipline myself to place level stakes) but hopefully this time around will pull it off
My concern is not JOB as this young lad has probably ridden since he came out of pampers but the ground for ATD, I know he has won on soft but connections say " hes a daisy cutter " big horse and so forth. Looks like its going to be very wet around York up until the race.
