Always an interesting read to see how other people play their ante post wagers. Zarks especially good luck with those doubles, i hope you get the winner!

    For me personally i have:

    Finally

My biggest winner by a long way would be The Midnight Club but i am keeping everything crossed for Golden Kite as he will run a massive race should he take his chance and then he would be my biggest winner.

    Good Luck all

Zarks: Have you heard anything about a horse called Handassa? Won a small race on debut and was then put away but i liked the battling qualities she showed.

Any advice/news would be appreciated.

Shabby: Harsh indeed but some of the words are fair, but deffo not waste of newsprint LOL

This race surely revolves around Albertas Run and Kalahari King with Mad Max possibly the fly in the ointment should he get a soft lead which looks highly likely.

Dependant on the prices i will probably take a chance with Max and 2 RFC with Albertas and KK.

Zarks: I cannot agree with you re Deep Purple, if he can win a Charlie Hall (however weak the race was) at Wetherby over 3.1M he will stay the trip at Aintree on his head. I still cannot back him mind! I also like Punchestowns and the RFC with Caroles Legacy.

In the Anniversary trends dictate that Zarkander cannot win so i will be on Grandouet. However having backed Zarkander at the festival and ante post for next years Champion Hurdle i hope the trends are totally blown out of the water!

Should SILVERHAND turn up in the Silver Cross Listed HCap Hurdle (525) i believe he will go very well indeed and will have a large bet EW.

Great start to the Grand National Meeting :D

JJM: Like those chances apart from Somersby who i think will struggle. They are all likely to be pretty short ones so rather than a yankee why not just do the 6 doubles and 4 trebles with an EW acca, you don’t need the singles as the 2 short ones should win, that’s my opinion purely from a maths point of view :)

    Good Luck though

Mr W: A few things put me off this bet. NTD yard could not be in any worse form if they wanted to! Secondly, i feel positive one of their stable jockeys would be riding if he was their No1 chance of winning (nothing against Aidan Coleman of course, who has had a superb year). Finally on a purely trends basis he has not run within 50 days which is a massive requirement.

Good Luck with your bet though 8)

WT: Totally agree with you and he has been confirmed today for this race. He skipped over the Sandown fences which in themselves are not easy so he should have no trouble BUT his price will reflect this so i have gone for some value.

Good Luck with MP as he looks like being one helluva horse mate.

Ginger: What an awesome post, brilliantly written and great comments.

I am sitting with fingers crossed as i have 3 ante post bets in and one needing 2 to come out to run. Yet again it looks like we have an outstanding race to savour. :)

    Thanks

Shame for Roll Along connections if he doesn’t make it but happy days if Golden Kite gets a run, there are generally 2 to 3 defectors in the week building up to race day.

Suprised Peter Bowen is chancing Always Waining over this distance, despite his course form! Cannot see him finishing at all

    Joe,

Happy days mate, both yours getting a run. I am particularly happy that Arbor Supreme got in as i have backed him (win only though) as he is a dodgy jumper!

I am hoping Golden Kite also gets in after the 48 hr decs on Thursday, will go very well at a nice price and have backed him EW at 80s and 66s.

Bookiebabe: I await your latest report re World Domination. I have heard very good reports from a mate down South so i hope he is working well still.

Thanks for passing on the info :D

Albertas Run hits many trends for this race and must go well but i would love to see Kalahari King win. Graham Lee will not be able to sit so far off the pace here or he may as well not turn up!

Somersby is a favourite of mine but i cannot see this race suiting him at all, may just have to accept that he isn’t as good as i thought :(

I am a massive fan of Mr Henderson and have followed both horses for the last 2 seasons. My main concern here is in this race Mr H is 0 from 14 runners! Somehwat of a concern, for me this race is made for Solwhit but i guess we have to wait and see who turns up. Great race on paper though

With there being 3 weeks between Cheltenham and Aintree i would not discard all runners. There are certain races that Festival runners thrive in here but the horses that had hard races (Denman, Bobs Worth, Kauto Star) i would be wary of.

I can tell you the following races often get won by horses that took part at the festival:

    Liverpool Hurdle
    Matalan Anniversary Hurdle
    Totesport Bowl
    Mildmay Nov Chase
    Mersey Nov Hurdle
    Maghull Novice Chase

    Have a great day :)

    Krist:

Hi, did you see the run of Commemoration Day on Fri? Did make me laugh, commentator announced ‘looks like the jockey will pull CD up after this fence’ quite obviously did not realise the horse loves to run through beaten horses! Great ride and looks like he can go in again with a penalty!

Charlie Longsdon is in magnificent form indeed, backed Be My Light and Sorcatastic on Saturday in an EW trixie with another one from their yard that came 2nd at 22s! Paid well as i backed BML single too but so very close to a magnificent payout :)
