3 interest me today:
410Wi:
500K:
440W: This provides the best bet of the day for me,
Be Lucky
Rather annoyingly i have just been told that Apache Blue is strongly fancied in the 430 Newc, had i known earlier i would have left out Grandad and put him in!
Will now have to back him single and another win trixie with Commemoration Day and Getaway Driver.
Jockey of Apache Blue believes he won LTO with any amount in hand and is intending to leave it as late as possible again to make his challenge.
I have just been told that Apache Blue is expected to win the 430 Newc today. Jockey believes he won with any amount in hand LTO and feels very strongly that he will follow up.
I like the look of
Nice EW double and a win bet on Commemoration Day
EW Trixie for me today on Charlie Longsdons three:
210S: Grandads Horse
440S: Commemoration Day
510S: Getaway DriverCommemoration Day improved for joining this in form yard and won rather nicely, may be capable of seeing off the 5lb raise.
Getaway Driver ran well on his debut and has since changed yards, with the very capable Mr Quinn taking 10lbs off could place and even win.
Be Lucky all

Zarks: As i follow Stoutey and Mr Cecil it was of course my mistake with World Domination!
I see your point about Carlton House but my money is already down

Zarks: I have already backed World Domination BUT have heard in the last 2 days that SEA MOON has been working the best of their 3 year olds, have you heard owt like that?

Zark: I would be more concerned with the going! Personally despite him looking a Group horse i firmly believe he needs cut and the ground is going to be gd at worst!
I have addressed the trends/draw and there is only one horse who comes out 100%, that is
Good Luck one and all
Rich: You get your dosh back

Zarks: I agree with your remarks about Gunner and there is no sign of rain so maybe i should not have wished for him maiing the cut after all
Monies down down so time will tell.Well that was a rather disappointing day although some rather tasty gambles were landed at Catterick Bridge.
The ‘NAP’ ran a race full of promise but sadly found one too good but at 16s i was happy with the place money. Michael Dods horses did not look as good as they normally do beforehand so maybe they have problems at the yard, next few weeks will tell us.
Tancred Spirit will win a race but was beaten fair and square into 2nd by an improver.

I am an avid Henry Cecil fan and also follow what Tom Segal says. For me Mr Cecil will not send this very exciting prospect to the Guineas half cooked so maybe they will give the Guineas a miss altogether and are starting to lean towards the derby which thay have always tended to believe he would not stay!
Strange for Tom Segal to be so negative about a ‘star’ horse from a very well respected yard. Shame really as he generally writes very well indeed.
Andy: Not at all but muchos respect to you

Your grouchiness is happily accepted in all future comments
Corranard: As a trends follower i tend to not back anything above the 11 stone mark as this is one trend that goes very well despite the handicapper condensing the weights.
I also prefer to stick to the irish horses that can handle good ish ground as the days of the national being run in a bog seem to be well and truly gone. Therefore i look at the longer races over there (Ulster/Munster/Leinster Nationals and Bobbyjo) and have come up with a couple at decent prices:
Ballytrim from Paddy Mullins yard and Golden Kite (still requires a few to drop out to get a run but should be OK) from Adrian Maguires yard at 66s (80s available in places).
Well that wasn’t a very good start was it

Maybe ‘specialist’ was the wrong word, what i meant to get across was that i spend a lot of my spare time ‘studying’ for Cheltenham and Epsom.
Andy: No problemo with you being grouchy, think we all are at some stage, i am more so now i am approaching 50

OK, here goes

I have been interested in racing for over 30 years since i watched the ITV 7 on a Saturday with my grandad.
I enjoy the flat but the jumps is without doubt my favourite and i cannot stand the AW. It is hard enough to read the form for proper racing without taking into account AW rubbish

I study from March to March for the Cheltenham festival and am an avid ante post gambler. My early bets for 2012 are:
Zarkander 14s for the Champion Hurdle, used some of the winnings from this years Triumph Hurdle! I was mightily impressed with his amazing turn of foot and have supported him more in hope than anything else.
I was one of the lucky 53 that laid Long Run at 6s to £100. I wanted £250 but was knocked back and despite moaning at the time i now realise i was rather lucky to even get £100. This young horse could break all the records if Mr Henderson can keep him sound. He jumps for fun now and quite obviously stays well.
My third bet is a rather suspect one and i am now less confident but i have backed Al Ferof for the Arkle, again having backed him at 33s for the Supreme i was more than happy to give them £50 back!
I also attend the Derby/Oaks every year and have done for over 30 years. It is a superb week-end away and i meet up with people who i only see at Epsom, have a few beers and then chat about what’s happened over the last year. Great fun and we always without doubt have a great time. Costs nothing as i put money away from winnings throughout the year.
I very much look forward to speaking to as many people as get on here regularly and hopefully in time meet some of you who frequent the race tracks.

Andy: I am lost mate? Manners costeth nowt as they say up here

I do not see how ‘Good afternoon all’ could possibly cause offence? If so then obviously i apologise my good man
Like most racing enthusiasts i love this race as a spectacle BUT not for serious betting purposes. Despite doing well over the past few years i still keep my stakes to a minimum and have been disciplined this year despite having my best Cheltenham on record!
I have backed 3 all EW.
My main hope and largest bet (total of £30 EW) is from the Willie Mullins yard again and
Obviously i shall have a couple of fivers EW on the day at long shots with daughters names or pets but that’s the last of my ante post bets done. Good Luck to you all for this most excellent of races to enjoy.
