So don't run, just like the others always do
April 5, 2011 at 21:06 #348777I’ve gone a bit mad on the race but I’ve been rather shrewd/lucky.
5 x £1 doubles, Zarkandar 33/1 (Triumph) + The Midnight Club 16/1, Chief Dan George 25/1, Dooneys Gate 66/1, Vic Venturi 40/1 and Don’t Push It 20/1.
£20 double J J the Jet Plane 2/1 (Al Quoz) & The Midnight Club 10/1
I’ve got Backstage at 33s, Vic Venturi at 120s, Majestic Concorde at 80s and various other things. Should Skipper’s Brig get in I’ll have 14 on my side and be getting at least 3/1 for my money. Vic Venturi & Don’t Push It would be my big winners.

The Midnight Club 2pts ew @ 20s (5 Places)
Killyglen 3pts ew @ 66/1 (4 Places)Today all (5 places)
Becauseicouldntsee 2pts ew @ 25s
Chief Dan George 2pts ew @ 33s
State Of Play 2pts ew @ 25sApril 6, 2011 at 09:06 #348812Always an interesting read to see how other people play their ante post wagers. Zarks especially good luck with those doubles, i hope you get the winner!
For me personally i have:
Finally

My biggest winner by a long way would be The Midnight Club but i am keeping everything crossed for Golden Kite as he will run a massive race should he take his chance and then he would be my biggest winner.
Good Luck all
April 6, 2011 at 09:46 #348816Don’t Push It @ 20/1 – (placed mid-Feb) – did the same thing last year so hoping lightning strikes twice!
My bets on the day will probably be Ballabriggs, Arbor Supreme and The Midnight Club (although 8/1 on that one looks a little short now).
April 6, 2011 at 18:25 #348909I have a shocking record in the race and don’t normally back anything ante-post so tried a different approach this year:-
Ballabriggs 33/1 – not sure why I backed him, finds little off the bridle and would surely be better off in the Topham
Don’t Push It 22/1 – chances should improve as the ground dries out and fair chance of finishing in first six but tough ask to win again
Silver By Nature 16/1 – the opposite of Ballabriggs in that he would probably appreciate five miles but very likely to find himself outpaced if the ground dries out
In short, not hopeful.
April 6, 2011 at 19:19 #348920Had a few bets in the last 24 hours, so i think they’re all NRNB.
Latest this eve – West End Rocker e/w at 40s (1st 5)
Vic Venturi – e/w at 50s
Skippers Brig – e/w at 50s (hope he gets in!)
Or Noir de Somoza – e/w at 50s
King Fontaine – e/w at 50s
Don’t Push it – win only – at 16sProb do 2 win only on Saturday – from the 1st 6 in the betting – it feels so wide open compared to previous years.
