Interesting race,
Follow The Plan has alot going for him but probably wants better ground.
Jayo jumps well, has gears, handles the ground and lacks size, though he battled well against Top Of The Rock earlier, i’m not sure what he’ll find for pressure when the **** really hits the fan at this level, 5/4 or 6/4 doesn’t do much for me really
Forpady has got guts but the trip may be an issue, I’m willing to pass at 5/2
Golden Silver is a contender, he handles the ground, jumps well and looked to improve for the drop back to 2 miles the last day, quickening nicely towards the end. At 25/1 i’m interested
I dropped into a bookies to watch the Dewhurst a cpl of years back. One punter had been tipped off that a Ballydoyle blue blood was going well at home, the horse was ‘expected to piss in – O’Briens words not mine… ‘ and he had placed the crown jewels on it accordingly.
After watching the horse place second, he was then dually informed that K.Fallon was ‘only a crook’, ‘the race was fixed’ and ‘Fallon probably lost on purpose’….
Presumably contrary to his natural demeanor, he started showing signs an increased agitation with his current surroundings , he proceeded to gracefully put a stool through a television monitor, then jog off the premises stating the he was ‘finished with this gambling ****’
The sooner a deal is done to get exchange terminals installed at racecourses the better.
How can the sport expect to evolve without them?Robin Du Bois and Imperial Hills are the only two that appeal to me in any way really. Sophocles might have been interesting if he had showed anything in his recent runs, but was truly awful the last day in Leopardstown.
W.P Mullins will hardly let Ruby get on the Martin horse for this will he?Sometimes it’s better to become removed and emotionally uninvolved from the event. Bets become expressions of maths, you don’t take them personally. The difference between making winning and losing plays isn’t always that great. When you are winning you have to understand why you have won no less than why you lost when you are making losing plays.

Interesting article about the horse and the steroids issue on Mordins site, make of it what you will.To my eye he looks better now than at Saratoga, though still ‘smaller’ than Dubai in May.
Pasquier rode a good race on Proportional, breaking well and getting near the front rank early. After making up the ground she did at the end maybe Plumania is the one to take out of the race after the winner. She looked as if she had a difficult enough time of it early on,maybe due to her draw, early speed is possibly an issue though as Copperbeach was drawn beside her and was well on the speed early, although she too dropped to mid div after those wider came across. The race turned out to be a total non event for the Irish.
I think Again might be vulnerable to something with a turn of foot in this race.Elle Lellouche has a nice filly in Palme Royale that has won over the course and trip already,14/1 with Coral looks overpriced
Okay
I like Again for this but Marina Of Venice looks big at 5/1 a place to me
With his recent muscle problems there’s got to be a doubt about New Approach making his come back on bottomless ground, no?
Agree with Aragorn,I’d say Zulu Chief will be a different proposition altogether on a good surface,it was a total bog out there today
Oxx hasn’t been doing great for a while now,the last couple of season’s anyway, maybe more.Personally i think he relies too much on the Aga Khan.
I don’t mind the C4 coverage that much really,Francome,Alaister Down,Jim McGrath and Simon Holt ar all quite good.I don’t know what the story with the gold cup song was – cringeworthy…they might has well have played ‘My Lovely Horse’ from Fr Ted…
Myles,or anybody else for that matter, just a short question, what is Zeljko Ranogajec’s background do you know,is it maths/science orientated?
