I’m already on Butlers Cabin at 25s, backed it straight after last years race.
I like the look of My Will as the race approaches too.
Well I hope he is……………otherwise I,ve blown my chances of a tenner before you start
He is in the BHB official rating list of horses in training.
2nd in the Derby, just like Golan……….King George here we come !He has been entered for the Curragh Gold Cup.
Bit of a shame they’re aren’t going to be more entrants mate.
Intense Focus
Black Bear Island
Tartan BearerQuality !!!
I didn’t know Tartan was being kept in training, could be a force to be reckoned with in the middle distance races.
Great idea to have a Veterans Chase for the Festival.
Run it on Day One after the Cross Country and restrict it to Conditonal Jockeys run over 3m or 3m3f.
Fair comment, it could be an ideal race for conditional jockeys, give them a bit of the limelight as well as the horses.
Matinee meetings- was that the ‘official’ term for the meetings starting around 11am a few years back?
Me and a friend have been trying for weeks to remember what they were called.
I don’t really have a staking plan but I’ll back a horse whilst taking into consideration my bank size and what amount I want to achieve from the bet so if I have a bank of £388 and theres a 20-1 shot I fancy then I’ll probally have £4 e/w because im not spending much and the outcome is good
Makes good sense, always weigh up the pros and cons and you really can’t have any excuses.
Mr. Wilson- He had cancer and I wanted to know how he is doing.
Personally I think its great that these grand servants have ‘special’ races just for them, I myself would welcome a race at Cheltenham for them, even in they’re twilight years they are still more than worthy of a big day in the spotlight.

There was nothing nice about his attitude when he beat Denman at Kempton….came across as little $hite….and Ruby agreed with that. I agree with the original poster….i find him a poor jockey…but he does damn well with a couple of the stable obv.
Can’t do anything else but agree with that mate, almost smug but surely common sense would tell him Denman was nowhere near 100% that day, as shown by his gallant 2nd in the Gold Cup.
Thank you guys, others please keep the selections coming!
Henry has always been the boss of the flat in my eyes, i’d be grateful if anyone has any updates on his health at the moment.
I was surprised by the lack of replies for your thread, i’m always intrigued by what other punters methods are.
To be honest guys I think I put this thread up a bit late, I hope a good few more will come in by tomorrow but whatever happens we’ll still go with it anyway.
Thanks Anglo, i watched it that day but never heard of it again, no info on racing post website either, glad someone else had a giggle.
Sorry Raff, I made my point not knowing exactly how many Pipe horses were actually owned by Johnson, I thought it would have been a lot more, ignorance is bliss……..
Fair play mate when you put the % up I was surprised by the amount of Johnson horses Pipe currently trains, I know loyalty goes a long way in racing but how long before Johnson starts sending a lot more horses elsewhere?
At the moment how many owners would prefer they’re horse trained by Paul Nicholls rather than David Pipe?
This is one of my bugbears.
The 3 F’s-
Fashion
Fairys talking about fashion and then having the nerve to criticise people for what they wear.
Forget it.
A couple of years ago i was watching some racing in the french provinces and one of the runners was called sick my duck, true story too, imagine you had to call that in a tight finish, never be allowed to name it that in this country.
