If Christianity has taught me one thing through how to live my life, it must be "love thy neighbour as thyself"

The Bible as you know contradicts itself in several places. The main one that springs to mind is "an eye for an eye" which contrasts to "turn the other cheek"

There is a world of difference between Christianity and Fundamental Christianity. Do you think George Bush is a good human being merely because he follows God’s law/word. (The same applies to ordinary Muslims and Fundamental Muslims)

Are all men of the cloth holier than me purely because they worship their God regularly. Even the ones who abused children for years or those who act as terrorists in the name of their Religion?

Which is the lesser sin. To be a homosexual or to kill a homosexual.

To be a true Christian (even human being) involves tolerance. Lack of tolerance for others is THE biggest reason why the world is not a safe place today. We have the leader of the "free" world starting a war basically due to his belief that "his" Christian God is better than "their" Muslim God.

So I’m sorry if you feel I’m taking the p**s
    out of "YOU" Christians.

I don’t have a problem with gays at all.

Won’t the kids who are being adopted be saved from growing up in state-run homes. And as Grasshopper says, there are delinquent parents who are allowed to have kids and I don’t hear any of you anti-gays moaning about them (which is a far bigger problem).

No indicating is my favourite pet hate. In Ireland, when you are going right at a roundabout (ie – third exit), you have to indicate right and then left after you pass the second exit (my wife tells me it’s different in the UK). BUT NOBODY EVER F****** INDICATES RIGHT WHEN THEY ARE TURNING RIGHT. I have now taken to going ahead and driving onto the roundabout when the car turning right has no indicator on. I don’t chance it with trucks though.

Let it go man let it go. You’ll become even more bitter and twisted than you already are.

Hi Luis. Don’t mind Colin. Welsh people are practically English anyway, never having fought for their own Parliment and all that! ;)

The website http://www.aaroadwatch.ie/routes/ has a route planner which gives you directions, distance, and time for all journeys between towns in Ireland, UK (incl Wales), & Europe. It’s pretty good although doesn’t take traffic possibilities into account.

The site said that the trip from Sainte Maxime to Saint Tropez would take 15 mins but it took 2 hours due to traffic and this is the norm!

What part of Dublin are you going to. The trip from Rosslare to South Dublin might take 90 mins but if you are going to the Northside of Dublin, this could add up to 2 hours due to the incredible traffic congestion in Dublin.

It’s at least a 3 hour drive from Cork to Dublin. Don’t know if this will impact on your decision.

You could dump him and hook up with Alchemist and then everybody’s happy.

And Alchemist could start drinking again!

Very sad. Connections must be gutted given the way they have looked after him so well.

    Keith

Commiserations mate. It happens to the best of us (although not Meshaheer, who I now picture as some sort of goddess type figure). I can only reiterate what others have alraedy said. Basically spend more time with your mates and try to go out and immerse yourself in whatever you find interesting. It’s not easy but time will heal eventually. Good luck.

Some interesting points Steve. One I’m confused about though is how do you get to sleep with another girl when there’s no drink involved!

I would trackside. I remember reading that Storm Cat was one of the more temperamental horses in traing in his day. I think it was in the book Horsetrader about Sangster, Magnier, and Vincent O’Brien. Apparently, Storm Cat lost a couple of races by taking a disliking to another horse in a race and trying to bite him in the last couple of furlongs.

I don’t really know too much about UK politics being from the Emerald Isle but a noticeable trend in both Europe and the US is the shift to the right in the populous. We have seen it in Austria, Netherlands, & Germany ( I think). This is totally different from say 10 years ago when Labour governments were elected in France, UK, & Germany. A big reason why Bush was voted in (I hesitate to use the word "again" ;) ) is because Middle America figured the Republicans would protect them from foreign terrorists better than those soft Democrats. I can see that when the next election comes around in the UK, the Tory’s will play on the London bombings and to people’s fears of further attacks and they will be elected.

Hopefully not in a coalition with the BNP though.
