Thanks Gladiateur – hope I get the same treatment!

Where is the 66s for Folcano?!
Song For Someone will miss the Champion Hurdle.
I’ll leave Trumpisms to the fanboys and pilgrims!

Not the first time that someone has erroneously reacted to one of my observations as though it were aimed at them by quoting the first part of my post back, but last time it was a different username.
I remain of the view that there’s lots of needless posturing in this thread, and in the context of journalism it’s not a giant leap, or ‘assumption’, to point to those media sources which have a recent (and objectively proveable) track record of wilfully misleading their…audience.
Sad to see that the Rupert Murdoch fanboys and Daily Mail pilgrims are out to use a thread on a Racing forum, about a Racing journalist to attack their own generalisations about others’ political views.
Here’s hoping Chris Cook swiftly opens a new and interesting chapter in his career.
Well done folks, and commiserations to those on Aye Right who looked the winner the whole way round until after the last.
I think that result also pays a compliment to Yorkhill’s win last time and he remains of interest elsewhere.
Yorkhill N/R :(
Yorkhill is now 28s with boost on Betfair and I have some serious FOMO after his performance last time out, so have taken that EW five places.
There’s been a fairly ominous halving of Musical Slave’s price today.
Well done Cork!
Well done folks

I was between the top two in the market so with Sam Brown being pulled I will back Royal Pagaille here.
Following Mike’s comments and for anyone who fancies it, SkiBet have Royal Pagaille to win today and the 2021 Cheltenham Gold Cup available at 80s.
Dashel Drasher for me too. I can definitely see the case for Good Boy Bobby.
I’ve backed Windsor Avenue a few times in the past and he’s become something of a cliff horse for me so with me having decided not to today, watch out for a big run there.

Waiting Patiently has had his issues in making it to the start line. However once there he’s hit the frame in 12 out of 14 races, with one hampered unseat and a single below-par run. So I find the “anyone’s guess” assessment of this horse at this stage, difficult to understand. If anything, that sort of comment applies more to DDS who seems to either win or bomb out.
Should be a good renewal, with three reasonably well-matched, class horses all having claims if on-song. It’s a watch and enjoy for me but I’d like WP to win.
Good late play there VtC! I was pleased with Achille’s run, came from quite a way back in the end.
There’s more than one here where I’ve been waiting for the right race to make a move and as such I think cases can be made for quite a few, but also that the market has it about right. Of those near the front, Le Breuil is needing a good run to get into the National but this looks tougher than his first choice entry on Thursday. I’d have bet him there but not here. Captain Chaos has dropped down to just a couple of pounds above his last winning mark and has the blinkers on which is a good sign of intent from the Skeltons. Antonymic Notachance and Storm Control both appear to still have progression within them and Django Django meets the former on 5lbs better terms than when running out a four and three-quarter length winner on heavy ground a year ago.
The one I’ll take a chance on though is Achille. Low mileage for an 11-year-old and has run well fresh previously. On an upward curve the last couple of years and with good excuses for defeats during this period. Could quite feasibly still be well-handicapped and will benefit from a nice racing weight today. Venetia Williams’ yard is in good form and Charlie Deutsch prefers this to Didero Vallis which suggests a good run is expected. The price (I took 12s this morning but 14s now available!
) is just that bit more palatable than those others I give a decent chance of winning to. I’ll play EW.Further to my post a few pages back and the concern in response around Song For Someone being targeted at Aintree rather than Cheltenham, some more (and more recent) trainer comments:
“Song For Someone is in great form and the plan would be to either run in the Champion Hurdle at Cheltenham or the Aintree Hurdle. We have entered him in the Champion Hurdle and we will make a decision nearer the time.”
<then some chat about a pre-Spring Festival target>
“I was absolutely delighted with his win at Cheltenham and despite the circumstances, it was great to see him prove his liking of the track. It was obviously nobody’s fault that they didn’t jump the hurdles in the home straight, but that would not have suited him as he is such a good jumper. The fact he still managed to win was great and it clearly showed that Cheltenham suits him. The Champion Hurdle is firmly in the picture and it would be great to have a runner in a championship race like that.”Think I’ll take my own advice. 16/1 NRNB now available.
