emily i filled the survey in i am in ireland my local racecourse is cork whenever there is an upcomming meeting its blasted all over the radio twitter etc big race meetings are advertised on the main tv channels when ever i go to a meeting there seems to be a good crowd dont know if its to do with less meetings people look forward to it more as in britain its on tap everyday also upto now the rowdy types who in all honestly just go for a p**** up havent invaded to the extent i see when watching british racing i know i will get called for this but why not have an odd meeting booze free how many parents would bring children and possably future fans get them young would be my way of going about it if your not a fan of a sport no amount of advetising will persude you !!!!
ok I have no objection to moving the time but why not move it to sunday less to clash with channel 4 could have the big runup to the race like we had in the oldays and if it didn’t work what have we lost the people who love racing will always watch it seem to remember when they had it on the Monday in 97 didn’t stop people tuning in the next year !!!!
got to admit had a little dabble on southwell today love my jumps racing too but with small fields missing fences hurdles out and plenty of races with big odds on favourites in them why not especially southwell you can do ok going for cd horses i am a fun punter so count my stake as the same as going down the pub and i also think there is a place for the horses who are not quiete as good but try there hearts out too
I reckon that ATR has the 4 best presenters of our sport by a mile.
Matt Chapman calls it like most of us do in our living rooms, nothing stops Matt from being honest, probably to his professional detriment with jockeys and trainers.
Luke Harvey and Jason Weaver do a great double act, ok a little to much light hearted at times but still fun to watch.
Last but not least Gina Bryce, not a glammed up ‘look at me’ girl
unlike Emma and Gina just has a good all round profile to be on our screen.
And also a big Brucy bonus here is that ATR if free.
totally agree but would just add big mac to the list and alex hammond for the eye candy of course !!!! the thing is when they changed the c4 team there thought the grass would be brighter on the other side of the fence why cant people just leave things alone !!!!!

He sat still because he thought he could do a Frankel???? Nonsense!!!!
FFs open your eyes he sat still because he couldn’t go forward as Ursa major was directly in front of him.
The more I watch the race the more I put the blame firmly on the horses behavior and inability to quicken.
Joseph did the right thing waiting and it’s not like it was a furlong from home before he found daylight. He eased him out at the first opportunity fully 2 furlongs from home and the horse had all the time in the world to go and win his race.
if you watch the race at the 2 furlong poll he is not trapped in he is right behind the winner as you know 10 different people could watch this race and we would have different views that is the beauty of the sport imo i will stick to my opion

i have no problem if someone wants to stump up the cash but i do have a problem if the horse is entered purely for pace making purposes
I personally find the Sporting Life website a lot better
totally agree phil sporting life site is excellent dont even mind atr web site
i was firmly in the camp of retire him when he pulled up at punchestown last year but he came back this year and won 2 races so he did deserve his chance at the gold cup but during the race it was a repeat of last year at punchestown i dont think he has ever lost his fight the legs are not just up to it anymore it happens to us all i would like to see him retired so he can live out a happy live dont want to see a situation like best mate i know no one could predict that but there is always the danger i am sure he can still do all his excercise up the gallops with all the young horses and it would be a joy seeing him paraded all over the place like red rum was and even open a few betting shops!!!
hi that was loverly to see and to be honest that is how all the old horses should be treated i will never have a racehorse but if i ever did when it had retired it would be looked after for life thanks again was nice to see all the pics

except for the royal meeting at ascot id like to see how long ascot and other tracks survive with out the so called common people being allowed in ! there is no argument in what a person chooses to wear but using a dress code as a stick to beat the people they dont want in is not the way to go

What are you talking about? When have Ascot or other tracks tried to stop "common people" coming in? If they were using it as "a stick to beat the people they don’t want in" why weren’t they just throwing people out of the racecourse?
You are talking rubbish.
ok thats your opion i read your other post the one quote workingmens sports like rugby football can do as they like well i count racing as a working mans sport too and its the opion of people like you the race courses are pandering too if i have the money to go in the dear section i should be able to wear as i please if i cause trouble then i would be expecting to get thrown out you were at wentworth i bet you did not walk around the 18 holes in a suit allday but i bet the ocaasion was not anyless enjoyable because of it dont take this personally everyones different opions is what make the world go round and christ the place would be a boring place if everyone was the same
Many of the worst behaved people I’ve seen on racecourses have been in suits and ties.
ALL of the worst behaved people I’ve seen on racecourses have been in suits and ties.
Mike
totally correct

i go to a lot of race meetings in ireland and the good thing here there does not seem to be any dress code
i have been to the punchestown festival every year i wear jeans and trainers and no one bats a eye lid people here go to a track to watch the horses and races and not to bother what people are wearing ( except for one meeting the galway festival and its that packed you cant move anyway hee hee ) ascot such be glad people are comming through the gates in these hard times not trying to p**s people off oh whilst i am on about this ascot because you wear a suit doesnt mean you cant be a scum bag !! its these kind of stupid things that stop new people comming to try the racesyou would have to be an idiot too actully pay twice 2 to lose your money ie money for call money for bet at least if you pick yourself and it loses you wont feel as bad as someone loseing it for you and if it wins and you pick it yourself it is even more enjoyable

thanks hurdy i know i am well behind the times i am going to have a look at that systerm you just said and actually have a go it is as most things if you never try you never learn as most of my bets are win singles i only ever back eachway if the horse is over 20/1 that horse by the way wasnt way up in the air the 3.40 punchestown it was cantering but he give nina carberry 2 much start anyway hurdy thanks and have a good new year!
if it lost they would not say anything they accepted the bets and they were placed in good faith by punters if you place a bet and it wins you EXPECT to get paid !!!
