It is a shame about the runners, last years turnout was good, but I think the race will be run true enough. I cant see why any tactics would bother GH that much anyway. He has the turn of foot over 10f and has the stamina for 12f so a slow or fast pace shouldn’t be a hindrance.
I think a small wager on that 9/2 more than 4 lengths is worth it.

The ground in the King George was good to soft-ish last year and the Arc was good ground, so nothing can be guaranteed.
I would like to see him in as many as they can get him in (including King George) but I would love to see him line up in the arc for sure.

I would be very surprised to see GH in the King George. He does love fast ground, but there is only so much a horse can take on it at this level and and he will be on it again in the Coral Eclipse.

I’m not sure how many others were possibilities, but I know Free Eagle (Dermot Weld) is missing as he is being aimed over 12 furlongs.
With this heat wave arriving, the ground is going to be rattling and there wont be many who will want their horse running on that so soon after Ascot, or just in general, so they will save them for later on in the season.

I would rather 4 French speaking hippopotami present than have no terrestrial coverage at all. That would be a disaster.

I agree, I think he would be a fresh of breath air for Channel 4 and I would watch him no problem. I don’t always agree with what he has to say, but he is entertaining and offers his opinion well. I don’t see why people would hate him, its a bit strong, HATE.
Disliking him is understandable, but hey ho he isn’t to everyone’s taste.
I haven’t seen a racing review show on ATR for a while as I don’t have sky anymore, but when I did I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Brazen Beau 5/1, looks like he is being aimed at the race with the only issue being potential ground conditions. It would be a good match up with these two 3 year olds.
BB should have won the Diamond Jubilee, I am convinced he would have won by 2 if he was running with company.

I thought Balios for David Simcock/Jamie Spencer was very nice for such an inexperienced horse. I look forward to seeing him again.

Agreed, the only way I would see 8/1 Telescope NRNB would be in my dreams. 4/1 a week before the race would still interest me.
I’m certain there was a problem with the horse yesterday though.

Smullen on Free Eagle. It was the only way the horse could win, not 100% fit. If he was fit he would have won easy. He got it spot diddly on.
Even if he finished 2nd it would have been a top ride.

I have just posted about Telescope in the Horse Racing section. There is no way that this horse finished last in the Hardwicke without there being an underlying problem i.e. bad scope after the race perhaps.

He has never been that poor and 8/1 is a gargantuan price. NRNB if I can find it.

I know he has been inconsistent, but he has never been that poor. I would take that price on the King George.
It wouldn’t be a surprise to hear that the horse scoped badly after the race and there is plenty of evidence to suggest that Sir Michael’s horses are under the weather. (bar Snow Sky)
Whether the race was run to suit or not, there is no way that horse finishes last in that race without there being an underlying problem.
If I can find an 8/1 with a NRNB then I’m in.

So, was that a bad decision by Craig Williams?
If he gets beat as part of the pack then fair enough, but that sort of ride, all alone, surely cant have been helpful.
Undrafted gets a good bunch of horses to aim at and strikes well.

Craig Williams just stated: “Being on his own out there he lost concentration a few times”. a few times? that’s about 3 lengths.

Not as bad a decision as Luke Nolen on Black Caviar stopping a furlong out in 2012, but he got away with it.

I’m not aggrieved by all of this, I just don’t think the best horse won and that’s what is disappointing, especially in a group 1.

I am thinking more directly along the line of how much the horse will be worth at stud which is considerably more if he had a group 1 win to his name.
I have had a glance at the King George race and at the moment he is around 9/4, but no idea yet on final entries as there may be some international types to be entered.
He is race fit so there won’t be any excuses tomorrow and its no surprise to see his price. I might just put him in a double.
