An absolute favorite of mine on youtube is this semi unplugged-ish version of The Editors- Racing Rats from spinner interface, which I reckon is as good if not better than the original.

great version of that Bulwark, i have seen editors so many times i have lost count they are without doubt one of the best live acts around at the moment and still under-rated to me, they played early this year in the olympia in dublin (like the old vic theatre) i think its the best live venue in Ireland, and rocked the place i love the way they dont go on talking S.h.i.t a la coldplay although tom does pull some faces

My other half went to the festival with me this year, and in the triumph she backed Won in the Dark so kept a close eye on it along with CH but it seemed to me it was staying on very well up the hill to get 3rd what will he be going for this season as it seems this race will be ideal in a couple of years or am i way of the mark???

I don’t know where you get the idea that his race record suggests HE doesn’t win first time out, batman, but SE won after a 5 month break in 2006, and he was going to win after a 6 month break in 2007, but for falling two out with the race in the bag.

At best, it’s inconclusive – but it doesn’t point to him absolutely needing his first outing.

read again i say sizing europe does not win 1st time out but hardy does.

(in ladbrooks on sunday the in house commentator said over last 3 seasons HE won 1st time out, SE fell last seasons 1st race and did not win previous 2 before that?? i stand to be corrected)

I honestly believe that Comply or Die will win it again, he reminds me of headgehunter in that he jumps for fun stays all day, i know he has top weight (if denman doesnt run  ) but he has proved before he can carry top weight and win albiet a "lesser" handicap, Chelsea Harbour will also be the "right" age of 9 come April and i fancy a big run

    I don’t get it Gwilson77.

Snowy Monring couldn’t win the race last year off a mark of 145 and officially about 10lbs well-in, and he’s now rated 17lbs higher – I can’t see that he has any chance in the National next year, to be honest.

    Er…..!!!

and Mr mullins agrees with you also grass

I love HE and was delighted he won i did not back anything in the race as i find that this early in the season previous form does not always stand true (as proved sunday), but while watching the race something remined me of the ’05 AIG i was at, i backed HE that day when he came 3rd to Macs Joy (r.i.p), but what i seen convinced me that he would win the CH that year even though everyone were raving about harchibald, and i had same feeling again sunday that SE will win the CH this season, to me he just ran out of steam his form says that he does not win 1st time out and that HE does, so come March i will be backing SE with confidence

Apart from ruby who else has a chance of getting Top jockey as his price is just a bit to small 4-7 with PP R Thornton is 12-1 not bad that

L’ami is an interesting runner for Bolger in the Cross Country. Won a point for JT at Kilsheelan last month. Garde Champetre did bolt up at the festival last year though and is the one to beat. Puntal is another to watch. Would have given Spot a race last year if Noel Fehily hadn’t got lost!

garde champetre also won at the Punchestown festival with a huge weight and should be spot on with the recent run cant see anyone else winning it, and with nina on board all the better……they should rename the race in honour of Spotthedifference

but in fairness it was a great battle from the winner if he holds that form he could be a real good horse and there should be more improvement to come…

Briareus has done really well there, especially after a long time off the track, against Imsingingtheblues, who has already had a race this season.

    Very good training performance.

you should be a race caller Gaz!!!

I Like going to leopardstown & punchestown but Laytown was my 1st time going to the races when i was a nipper so it always has a special place for me even though its not a proper racetrack, In England i have only been to a handfull of courses, with Cheltenham the winner so far.

Have you been to Bellewstown? My wife and I went there back in 2005 and really enjoyed the atmosphere and the racing there. Viewing isn’t perfect but still a delightful evening’s racing. Finding the place, now that’s a different matter…….

Ha Ha but you did find it yes? a lot of the provincial tracks are like that over here but you will normally just get real racing fans going so will always have a enjoyable time even if not up to proper standards…

The more i look at the line-up for this race the more i hope they all make it safe n sound as it looks like it could be one of the best races at the festival..Nevada Royale looks good but will prob need it soft, breedsbreeze is 2 from 2 and looks the part, Aran Concerto looks best of the irish at moment as forpaddytheplaster win did not look anything special and fiveforthree still to go over fences….

Does anyone think wichita lineman has a chance if run’s in this?

Mossbank is out for the season batman. Pity really, made rapid improvement last season and was only 4 lengths behind Denman in the Lexus.

i did not know that, your right it is a pity was looking forward to see if he could improve further he will be 9 going on 10 when he is back so i wonder if thats it at that level??

It must be very frustrating for all attached with Nicanor to know that they could have a real superstar but with all the setbacks might never get to see him at his best again, kind of like Feathered lady….
