Probably no chance and we might be exagerating just a little bit……wouldn’t mind owing Binocular or Franchoek. Granted they still have to prove themsleves in thee top class races but we could probably regard them as being decent……..Hopefully one of them wins the Triumph and goes on to better things………personally I don’t mind which wins the race as long as it’s not Franchoek

    explain

    Tino Tino

Much better expected last time, was well backed into 2/1 after two great French races, top stable and if over what wrong last time out then 6/1 is a massive price.

Just Amazing looks the one to Beat

Not wanting to face the wrath of FoF, but I don’t think Sublimity was necessarily an "unfancied outsider" last year. The connections were quite bullish leading up to the race, that he would be right up there amongst them, hence why his price contracted steadily in the fortnight preceeding the race from about 40’s into 16’s.

exactly as i stated somewhere before, i read in Irish paper where Philip Carb.gave an interview he said he was deffo going to win race on Sublimity

and i still didnt back him doh!!!

i have cut down significantly over the last year (wedding to save for) so i wont bet during the week any more just on the W/end’s, i came to the conclusion that if i looked at the card’s for say a Saturday/Sunday and picked 2-3 horses from all the races i will do a few doubles treble and the horse i think has the greatest chance if a nice price will have a bet on that one, i found more often than not that this brings me a nice return than it did when i was having all kind of bets on loads of races so i try to stick to this formula if i look at the cards and see nothing i fancy i wont have a bet, and if i lose i wont go chasing it…….so all in all on average will have 5 bets a w/end……….

I think it’s a disgrace that the horse is even being considered for either race, but especially Aintree. He owes connections nothing and he should be left to live out his days in a field at this stage. Does Hourigan want another Dorans Pride on his hands?

i totaly agree with you the irish national maybe as the fences are what he is used to but not Aintree didnt they do the same to Dawn Run??

Well put it this way. He contested a Group 1 every month from April to October, and was still winning them in Sept and Oct.

    A model of consistency.

p.s. To say that any jockey would have won on Dylan Thomas in the Arc just because of Fallon’s comment is ridiculous. It’s like saying that Inglis Drever is the best stayer, so Paul Carberry could win on him.

    Different jockeys suit different horses.

Fallon and Dylan Thomas were perfect together, just like McCoy and Brave Inca.

i know what you mean but a horse of that much class i think would win no matter who was on board, how many times have you heard a jockey say " if i got the leg up on some of his mounts i would do same job" great horses are destined for great things no matter who’s on board!!

I think i said Cheltenam legend, but why let the facts get in the way of a patronising rant?

Yes but you also said you disagreed with me about the horse and I wasn’t talking only about his achievements at Cheltenahm……..btw all the horses I mentioned are not only legends in their own right they are also Cheltenham Legends……….you must be easy pleased mate if you think for one minute Hardy Eustace will even be remebered as anything other than a fairly good Chelteneham horse……he simply isn’t the stuff that legends are made of……….and stop being so friggin nippy your the one that’s talking rubbish matey

IMO i would also say Hardy Eustace was a cheltenham legend 3 years on the trot aint bad 2 of them Ch’s also the Fact about his original Jockey Kieran Kelly’s Accident gives his story something special….in my opinion that is

I would say that Sublimity was more impressive in beating Hardy Eustace in the champion hurdle last year than Sizing Europe was in beating Hardy Eustace in the AIG this year(Im sure many will disagree).
I would be of the opinion that Hardy Eustace is not as good a horse this year and on that basis alone I believe Sublimity should be the favourite (assuming he is going to turn up as the same horse he was last year which is far from guaranteed).
Maybe there is a horse lurking at the foot of the market that no one is talking about who will go and win it this year. No one was really talking about Sublimity last year before he won it. Its a tricky puzzle and I wont nail my colours to any mast yet.

i remember reading in one of the Irish papers last year an interview with Philip Carb. he stated in it the Sublimity would deffo win champion hurdle at the time i thought it was a bold comment and one many Jocks make about their horses, but comming to last the hurdle in that race that piece i read came right back to me and i couldnt stop kicking myself for not having an small e/w bet on him so maybe there is another one like him waiting in the wings???

I think you would have to have screw loose if you thought that was a good champion hurdle last year…….must be the worst one I have ever seen.

if that refers to my comment i never said last years CH was Good i said will this years be as good as last years in terms of quality….?

The form of the Arc race does not matter in terms of stud fee. The Arc win was a massive boost to his stud fee. But in saying that I see no reason why Murtagh couldn’t have won on the horse also.

exactly Fallon said it was the best horse he has ever sat on so if a horse is that good by his standards surly most Jock’s could have won on him??
