Lets ban horses running on the gallops in case they break a leg. Lets ban people from crossing the road in case a car hits them. Lets ban boxing, lets ban motor racing.

No one likes to see a horse die its horrible but its life. You can’t ban everything otherwise is there any point in living at all?

I agree, it is a tragedy but its part of life that every good thing has its negative sides, no matter what way you look at it. NH racing is not cruel its a fantastic sport with a rare tragedy (same as many other sports).

I get annoyed by the overreaction and calling for abandonment everytime something negative happens no matter what the sport/circumstances/occurence. The Daily Mail/Daily Express being particularly irritating in their hounding.

Child gets injured by a firework – ban them (ignore the fact millions of others were fine and had fun).

Old women sprains wrist opening a pickle jar – ban them.

Its only my opinion but i believe to stop NH racing would as a long-term affect be cruel to horses as many of these animals would not be looked after and given homes etc. You may wish to believe people would do it for the love of it but its like the age old argument of vegetarianism.

I agree completely, this is their job and it shouldnt be a problem to study and be aware of each runner and the basic information on each.

Its like an actor in the west-end remembering all his most famous and memorable scenes and then arsing up the bits he feels arent as important.

    Enjoyable.

On the PTP subject perhaps one of you can tell me what is probably a blindingly obvious piece of information.

Im looking at the Irish fixtures to see if i can get along to one out of interest and after each fixture there are brackets either with (F), (H) or (S)

    What do these indicate?

I quite enjoyed the coverage today overall although i would agree the commentary is not the best.

The detail of looking back over the race after each was pretty decent, particularly the foxhunters.

If you format the cells as text before typing in, or format cells and then paste-special text you can avoid the annoying change scenario

What really makes makes me cringe is when they have an Irish leprechaun/cockney jack the lad type gallivanting about the crowd.

This is extremely annoying and yet is done at every single major racing event they cover.

If you ever want to know just go into the rules tab and it tells you the places.

    Grand National is 4 places

The masters they have different markets set up for places, but top 5 is one of them

His wording in print this time does come across as being very cocky but i think it was probably said tongue in cheek. He knows only too well it isnt going to be a stroll in the park.

That said, I remember thinking after the GC how Twiston-Davies immediate reaction seemed to be more showing his anger people had made it all about Denman/KS with the scarves etc rather than showing his delight Imperial had actually won.

Perhaps he just likes being in the limelight.

Im bored with the crook comments.

On this occasion maybe he did make a judgement of error but anyone who has every single moment of their career judged and analysed is bound to cock up occasionally. Plus although he may have got closer he wouldnt have won, personally i had no complaint about his ride which was probably to instructions.

I appreciate the history etc, but as soon as theres anything at all to complain about, its the same old tired moaning and very rarely do they have any justification for the hysterics.

These people have an agenda and logical debate with them does not work.

Unfortunately, as in many scenarios in life, i find the best way to handle it is just to ignore them.

I genuinelly do regret that as i do have a lot of time for animal organisations and contribute accordingly, but the activists/protesters are either too emotionally attached or unwilling to enter a proper discussion.
